I've been having issues with this but I'm pretty sure that I can run it.
It starts out fine however after about 3 minutes the frame rate drops and the audio starts getting really choppy. I'm using the default dolphin setting so I don't know what's wrong. Here are my specs: i5 3570k 3.4Ghz Nvidia GTX 560 16 Gigs DDR3 Windows 7 64 Bit Dolphin version 4.0-203 10-12-2013, 10:24 PM
BooleanGate, your PC might be overheating, going into a low power mode (CPU and/or GPU) or a virus scan might be starting up at that time.

I'm in the same pool as boolean. My computer isn't as powerful but I can get 180fps on phantasy star online making it so fast it is unplayable (not tried the fps limiter yet) but my audio in skies of arcadia is choppy and the fps just 24 on average dropping as low as 14 in parts but rising to 31 or 32 in others. My computer specs are as follows:
Pentium i3 m370 2.4 ghz GeForce 420m graphics card (1gb, I can't remember if it is still over clocked or not, i used to have an on off switch for my overclocking settings) 6GB DDR3 Ram Windows 7 64bit Dolphin 4.0.1 ----------------------------- Edit: searching other threads and forums this seems to be a common problem with this game, guess I will just have to stick it out. 30fps is good, but less than 24 is annoying. 11-06-2013, 12:18 PM
Is anyone getting a hangup when approaching Glacia? I can see it, but when I approach it, the ship stops moving, music plays normally, animations keep going, and the only controls i have are the D-Pad.
I have tried it on 4.0.1 and 4.0.318 with no luck.
I don't know what I've done, but testing on 4.0-330 the framerate is almost perfect while it was kind of crap last time I tested. This on a E8400, dual core.
The problem is that there's a desynch in multicore calculations and so the game constantly freezes every 10 seconds. But for those of you who don't get the freeze I guess performance should be perfect. The only changes I made were about setting 25 fps and limit by FPS in the options (PAL version), and skip EFB in the graphic options. But it's likely the speedup is due to some new version. Also, if you get slowdown problems try using savestates and reload a state. If the slowdown disappears then it's probably the same problem I have with the constant freezes. Whereas in my case it simply stops, in yours it may be more resilient but still getting the desynch slowing down everything. 11-11-2013, 05:41 AM
I'm actually asking about an odd issue here: Cheats. Some work, some don't. I don't know why.
I'm using the US version of the game - I have no other issues with the game - speed is fine, and while I was experiencing the freezing issues with earlier revisions, I have found the game to freeze much less if at all, with the latest revision 330. However - I am using gameshark codes to make my characters, frankly, overpowered. The codes are from http://bsfree.shadowflareindustries.com/...04&c=10589 The Vyse codes, work just fine, and his stats are maxed in every respect. However the Aika codes, refuse to take - I can give her 99 MP and 9999HP, but the game refuses to boost her combat stats or unlock her skills/spells. Does anyone have any idea why this is? I managed to get the game to show her as level 99 by using real XFB and disabling "skip BIOS", but this made the game unstable and crashy, and even if I saved and then reloaded with the stable settings, the level 99 would immediately revert to her proper level after one battle. (It also didn't affect her stats whatsoever, meaning I had 64 attack at level 99...) Anyone have any ideas on how I can get the codes to function properly? (And yes, I am fully aware that I cannot use the discoveries code prior to certain points in the game... that one bit me about a year ago when I last played the game, which is why I'm trying to cheat my way through the earlier portions of the game now, rather than grind forever) PC Specs are: Windows 7 X64 Intel i7 920 D0 @ 3.6GHz AMD Radeon HD5870 1GB 12GB Triple Channel DDR3 Latest Master Branch (4.0.330) Emulator Settings: Dual Core Enabled Idle Skipping Enabled Cheats Enabled Auto Framerate JIT REcompiler DSP HLE Emulation DSound Backend Graphics Settings: Internal Resolution: Auto (Multiple) No AA 8x AF Scaled EFB Copy Per Pixel Lighting Enabled Force Texture Filtering Enabled Widescreen Hack Enabled GPU Hacks: Ignore Format Changes Enabled EFB Copies: Texture Texture Cache - Fast EFB Disabled Cache Display Lists Enabled OpenCL Texture Decoder Enabled Open MP Texture Decoder Enabled Fast Depth Calculation Enabled 11-11-2013, 10:05 AM

My guess is that the cheat code might not fully work. Maybe try the cheat code on your GC/Wii and transfer the memory card save to Dolphin. Turn off all of the Dolphin cheat settings after loading the save from your memory card. 11-16-2013, 12:09 PM
Is it just me or do the flashback scenes of Fina run really choppy unless lowering the IR to 2x or lower?

Personally when I played this game last year, Fina's flashbacks played just fine. Are you using OpenGL or D3D? If it's D3D, try switching to OpenGL. But aren't there like just two flashbacks Fina has throughout the whole game? :p |
