Custom Projection Hack doesn't work at all in DirectX11.

So it's not really a valid defect (not needing hacks in the first place is accurate behavior). If all you have to do is not use Custom Projection hacks, then all that really needs to be done is updating the wiki.

This game doesn't work in ANY backend without the projection hack. Only reason it doesn't work in dx11 is because it seems even if enabled ( which is default for this game ) it doesn't seem to do anything, and game looks like in DX9 for example with disabled hack. Correct thing for devs to do would be the to fix the issue which is present in all backends , so that game doesn't need any hacks to work
I misread your statement:
rpglord Wrote:game in dx11 looks pretty much the same as in dx9 with projection hack turned off. I thought you meant D3D11 without the Projection Hack looks the same as D3D9 with the Projection Hack. One interesting thing to note is that the game will display graphics correctly without Projection Hacks (in OpenGL at least) when you look at things in 1st person. The 3rd person camera for the rest of the game obviously has issues.

I got this game running perfectly on my pc after a good while of trying only to find out it crashes at the same spot every time. When i get to moonstone mountain right before a forced battle after a short door closing cuts cene the emulator will either freeze or close completely. Tried a few different versions of dolphin and a few different iso's all with the same problem. My pc's disc drive won't read my game discs and my gc bit the dust a few years ago, and I was on a Legend run!
Any ideas? Everything else runs fine with the game music included its just that one particular scene crashes at the same spot. I couldn't find anyone with a savestate or savegame just after moonstone mountain to test if the rest of the game works fine.
Have you tried using the latest Dolphin revision? Your profile says you're using 3.0-555, which is quite outdated now. Be sure to download it from here: http://dolphin-emu.org/download/
You can check the integrity of your disc images by using a tool to get its MD5 hash. Once you have the hash, compare it to one from a verified working dump from online databases such as GameTDB or Redump.org. If the hashes match, you're good, if not then the data in your ISO is not correct and you should redump your game. If you no longer have hardware capable of dumping your game from your original disc, see if any of your friends has a soft-modded Wii with Homebrew apps like CleanRip. They could easily let you use their system to get a new dump. 03-27-2013, 01:04 PM
Dolphin version was a mistake on my part, i was reading an older install, i am on 3.5. My iso however did not pass the hash check, trying to find one that passes before i resort to buying an adapter or cd drive capable of reading minidisks.

Hey all, new user to the forums and to Dolphin emulator as well
I have started playing Skies of Arcadia (awesome game), but I have been having issues with the Audio playing. Usually the audio is fine, but after a certain amount of time playing the audio becomes more distorted. The amount of time until the audio distorts varies and not all the time. I am using version 3.5-336 which apparently is out of date, picked up from the old dolphin site wanting to test the emulator on my new pc. Should I try the newest revision (as of writing 1120) or stick with the 3.5 stable release? My DSP setting is HLE emulation with "DSP on LLE thread" checked, and xAudio2 for the Audio Backend. I am also using OpenGL for my video backlend as was recommended by Shonumi in previous posts. I am pretty sure that I am using all other Dolphin defaults. Would appreciate any suggestions, thank you. Let me know if I should post screenshots of all my settings. |
