Hey John, great work on the revisions! I have experimented with the controls some more and I have discovered something that may lead to extremely stable Motion+ movement.
I did all these experiments with the cursor at the main menu, where you select your save data. At the main menu to move the cursor up or down you send Tilt Forward or Backward, but you will notice that when you stop sending these tilts the cursor likes to float back to the very center. For some reason when you send a Tilt Up or Tilt Down, it will suppress this "re-center" effect, and your cursor will stay exactly where you left it when controlled by Tilt Forward or Backward. So basically I held down Tilt Down, and then pressed down on the D-Pad a couple of times until the cursor sat still in the middle of the screen. While still holding Tilt Down, I was able to send Tilt Forward and Backward to move the cursor up and down, and it won't reset to the middle until I release the Tilt Down key. If the cursor starts moving diagonal instead of up and down, it's probably due to the "twist" action that tilting "Up" and "Down" do. In reality these are not tilting but Twisting the controller left and right, as far as Wii Motion+ is concerned. This effect works similar to how disabling the IR works for tilt Left and Tilt Right, allowing it to freely move the cursor without the constant re-center calibration pulling your cursor around for you.
I have yet to try this but I'm wondering if Dolphin, in the Wiimote configuration, works with combined controller and keyboard binds.
The reason I ask is because I think the only way to get this perfect on a controller will be to bind the analog sticks through Dolphin so that you have their walk/run functionality, but then bind eeeeeeverything else to the keyboard/mouse and use xpadder to then bind those to your controller. That way you can use all the extra functions like macros and especially "set" modifiers (hold a modifier button for example and your right analog stick goes from controlling the sword swings to controlling the IR cursor). I should be able to get the bowling and bird flapping or whatever the f it is all working well and good with a decent xpadder setup. Again that's assuming Dolphin works with controller and keyboardmouse binds combined. Aside from that I just want to get clear directions on what exactly I'm supposed to be doing with jpetersons stuff. Just use the latest dolphin build and overwrite the .exe with his? There's s much stuff there it's pretty confusing.
If the FPS is erratic, this option may help.
I'm going to find a good configuration for the XBOX360 controller for windows. I'll make a description with screenshots and a downloadable profile. It's one of the most used controllers afaik.
Thanks! That's what I meant, I would like to see a working layout using the controller, or a working version using both controller and key board. I was think its is possible for the swinging which looks like the make issue to have a combination of keys like hold down RT and the right directional stick for each swing? Thanks! The first post has been updated with a controller profile file. It's from a logitech controller and was not tested with anything else, so you're on your own with it. Let me know how it works out for you.
Asus Laptop: K53TA
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-Bit - SP1 CPU: AMD Llano A6-3400M, Quad-Core, 1.4GHz-2.6GHz (Overclocked) GPU: AMD Radeon HD6650M, 1GB GDDR3 (Catalyst 13.1) RAM: Samsung 4GB DDR3-1333
has anyone found a way to roll yet? I think I've tried every combination of everything but I can't do it.
It's supposed to be "shake the nunchuck while running (holding A)" but no matter what if I bind all 3 shakes to a button or just 1 or any combination of 2 it doesn't work.
If the FPS is erratic, this option may help.

It is recommended to use the builds in the first post as some of the newer builds may have other issues.

Whats the latests version of Dolphin rev I should use with the files on the first page? It says d/l latestest version and add these files. I d/led Dolphin 3.0 and added these files and settings are missing, I do know how you find the proper rev for these files.
Also the config on page one doesn't work for an Xbox controller, I can't figure out how to make proper settings to get the game to work at all, so please can some post the proper config for an xbox controller. I also couldn't add hybrid gamepad/keyboard together, which is annoying. Thanks.... |
