I don't have a Switch... yet..., so I can not say for it's controllers. But the Wii U Pro Controller works pretty well... Well... I ripped my version of the game and nowadays i run the game through CEMU instead since I upgraded my PC and bought a 4K monitor. Ohh and CEMU will be allowing for a triple core recompiler with the public release being on 1 January, 2018. That seems promising enough to completely focus on CEMU. Speaking of CEMU, I use my XBox One Controller which is essentially the perfect controller. I just have to use the gyrosensor of my Android tablet to emulate the motion control puzzles.

Triple core recompiler, one for each WiiU CPU core ? Soods promising. Ugh, if only their ethic hasn't questionable.
It's true there's always something to do in botw, but mostly things that I don't care. It's simply not a game made for me I guess. I loved Skyrim because narration was way more present.
From France with love.

As a long time Zelda fan since the 80's, I wanted to share my thoughts. I always like the overhead games the most (NES/SNES/GB), but my opinion is biased since they were from my era (I'm getting old). It's impossible to say one is the "best", so here's my personal opinion on them all and why I like (or dislike) them. My ratings reflect both my initial opinion, and how I feel today.
Console: The Legend of Zelda (10/10) - The original is a timeless classic which I still play at least once a year and is my personal "most times beaten" game. This game will never get old to me. Adventure of Link (9/10) - Many people say its too hard, I never thought so. I love that it's the only official side scrolling Zelda game (and I love 2D platformers). A Link to the Past (10/10) - Probably one of the best games ever made. There's no point in elaborating on my thoughts, it's truly a masterpiece of its time. Ocarina of Time (10/10) - Really wowed me on release, and in my eyes still one of the best games ever made. Master Quest on GC was a nice bonus to this already great game. Majora's Mask (5/10) - I could never get into this one, and I never finished it. I didn't like the mask collect-a-thon, the transformations, or the three day cycle. I know others like it though. Wind Waker (6/10) - It was okay. I didn't care for the cartoony art style. The stop motion when attacking was annoying. The ocean was awful to explore. I may try the HD remake someday. Twilight Princess (3/10) - I couldn't finish it, didn't feel like a Zelda game. I hated wolf Link, heart pieces in dungeons, I didn't like some elements (like the bird riding sequence). Skyward Sword (5/10) - I didn't hate this game, but it felt lazy. Exploring the same areas over and over again, the sky was boring, motion controls ruined the experience. Breath of the Wild (10/10) - The only other 3D Zelda I can give a 10/10. It manages to capture the feeling of exploration from the 80's and 90's only in 3D. It made me feel like a kid again. I'm kind of bored of it now, but it would be unfair if I docked points for that after putting well over 300 hours into it. Handheld: Link's Awakening (10/10) - One of my personal favorites. Interesting story, the first Zelda with a trade sequence, the first Zelda to allow jumping, the first Zelda with the Owl. Oracle of Ages/Seasons (8/10) - While I loved these games, and they resemble Link's Awakening, they are missing something that made Link's Awakening special. Still amazing games. Minish Cap (8/10) - A great Zelda game that too few people have played. My biggest gripe is they used child Link's voice from OoT for all his actions. A Link Between Worlds (9/10) - A blast from the past with new elements. It wasn't quite as good as a Link to the Past, but it had some interesting new elements. Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks - I can't rate these ones because I never played them, although I bought and own them both on DS. I think it's the WW-esque art style that always made me say "I'll play them eventually". Maybe some day... My opinions and ratings are mostly based on what Zelda was to what Zelda became. Since I'm of an older generation, my expectations of what Zelda should be are probably different than those who started the series later on in its life. I started to lose hope after it entered the realm of 3D (aside from OoT), it was as though Nintendo could never bring back that magic (at least for me) that Zelda games had since its conception. Some games I may need to sit down with and try again (Majora's Mask, Twilight Princess, WW HD) since my first impressions from years ago are what I still go by. Breath of the Wild has restored my hope though, and I can't wait to see what they have in store for the next game. Interesting story, the first Zelda with a trade sequence, the first Zelda to allow jumping, the first Zelda with the Owl. I definitely agree with Link's Awakening being a 10/10. You would think the Oracle games would be even better since both of them offer even more content than Link's Awakening while maintaining the same engine, but Link's Awakening is just a masterpiece and I agree that the Oracle games just lacked on what made Link's Awakening so special. I found the minigames in the oracle games always too hard. I took me about 10 years before I finally could complete the minigame in Oracle of Ages in order to proceed to the third dungeon. Save States through emulation are a boon. The Zelda II is simply not my type of game. I don't hard 2D platformers (I do love them), but for a Zelda game... Nah. Skyward Sword is just there worst there is... Fetch quests, re-used bosses, dungeons and area's and those horrific motion controls. I found both Twilight Princess and Wind Waker pretty great. But Wind Waker lacked the difficulity and additional dungeons and the GameCube version is not as streamlined anymore (enter the Wii U version!). Twilight Princess takes forever to start, basically a glorified tutorial, but once it kicks in it is pretty good. I found the City in the Sky dungeon to be one of the best in the series (only to be bested by the OoT's Forest Temple and BotW's Hyrule Castle). And how can you say Majora's Mask is a 5? It is amazing, it just lacks dungeons. Most of the Zelda entries since Ocarina always came with the word but. But too easy. But to few dungeons. But to many fetch quests. But poorly controls. But a long introduction. A Link Between Worlds did not have any of those buts. Sure it is not the longest game and not the hardest, but every hour is full spent in immersion. I was glad it broke the formula by allowing doing dungeons in any order. And of course, we all know my opinion about Breath of the Wild by now. My ranking list for Zelda games: Nr. 01 - Breath of the Wild Nr. 02 - Ocarina of Time Nr. 03 - Link's Awakening (DX) Nr. 04 - Majora's Mask Nr. 05 - A Link to the Past Nr. 06 - A Link Between Worlds Nr. 07 - Twilight Princess (HD) Nr. 08 - Wind Waker HD Nr. 09 - The Minish Cap Nr. 10 - Oracle of Ages/Seasons Nr. 11 - The Legend of Zelda Nr. 12 - Phantom Hourglass Nr. 13 - Spirit Tracks Nr. 14 - Skyward Sword Nr. 15 - The Adventure of Link Wind Waker SD is not worth my time anymore since the HD remake proved to be much more streamlined. Stopping everything you do and switching the wind direction on sea is just the worst. The original Zelda is fun, but my fondest memories started since the SNES and Gameboy. I would have ranked the original NES Zelda higher if I started playing the NES version earlier. As said, Zelda II isn't my style. I basically hate everything motion related, which is why Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks is ranked quite low, but are still pretty fun on the own. Completed Spirit Tracks at least three times. I never touched Skyward Sword again since it completed it on Normal Mode. At least sailing the sea in Wind Waker was more fun than flying around in Skyward Sword. The thing about Majora's Mask what makes it so great is how it handles the time limit in a perfect manner no other game suceeded to do so far. The tricky part in grading Breath of the Wild is how many hours you can put in it. Literally hundreds of hours. All previous Zelda games were mostly ranging from 15 tot 60 hours with Twilight Princess being the longest. Most of the previous games just had a primary focus on the main quest with here and there some sidetracking such as obtaining additional heart pieces, bottles, skulltulas and other minor stuff. In Breath of the Wild, 90% of your time is spent being sidetracked with the other 10% being the pure focus on working on your goal towards defeating Ganon. Since the previous Zelda were more focused on the main quest it was easier to remain optimal engaged with puzzles, dungeons, boss battles and what not. All these game eventually end at some point when you beat the final dungeon, but Breath of the Wild does not really end there. Sure you can beat Ganon and call it a day but chances are high there are still a lot of koroks, shrines and sidequests to complete. I even managed to find a new village, the horse fairy, the royal horse, a missing tower and quite a few area's I have never been to before after I beated Ganon. I think it is important to consider when you think you have completed the game. Doing all shrines is worth it. But I did not collect every korok seed, only half of them. Collecting any more would be pointless since there is no reward for it anymore (the inventory is maxed out anyway). Even doing every sidequest might not be worth of your time. It would be better to call it completed and start redoing it again (in Master Mode of course). it is a shame that once you completed the second DLC and obtained the bike that chances are high you already "completed" the game. You could have some fun racing around, but there is not any goal left anymore by that point to benefit from the bike... Unless a third DLC will be coming, but Nintendo already said they wrapped up the development for the game and that they started working on the next entry in the series. In short: Completing Breath of the Wild a full 100% might not be that fun anymore while all other Zelda games remain fun for the whole 100%. Not that it is bad for Breath of the Wild, it just has so many to offer and takes a great amount of time to work your way through. If you did not fully complete an older Zelda for 100% you might get the feeling you did not get all there was from the game. 12-31-2017, 10:38 AM
Not surprising to hear that unless it's OoT or BotW, it sucks. But that's where you're wrong, the Wand of Gamelon and the Faces of Evil are clearly much better games.

Being an ultra Zelda fan, I'll share my opinion on the subject!
As I like dark atmosphere and stories, my favorites are, of course, Majora's Mask and Twilight Princess. The first making the player feeling sometimes so uneasy and dealing with quite horrible subjects (when you double-think about it), the second for its atmosphere and deep story, even if it is not as unsettling as the first one. But I really enjoyed other games, like The Wind Waker (my first one), Skyward Sword and Breath of the Wild (even if, I think, it really lacks of story and "true" dungeons compared to the others). Anyway, coming from a French-speaking Zelda forum (Le Palais de Zelda), I could speak even more about it, but that will be enough. chumpz Wrote:they say that botw is the most sexual zelda game.. is it true??That's... a weird thought to have on a Zelda game. From the 3D games, Twilight Princess (and by consequence, Twilight Princess HD as well) still are the best for me, followed very closely by Breath of the Wild. From the 2D ones, Oracle of Seasons is my pick, followed by Minish Cap.
Other personal favorites includes Ocarina of Time, Skyward Sword and Link's Awakening DX...
