Please excuse my noobness but this is the first time i have tried to use custom textures with any game and i'm a bit in the dark about something:
1. I'm not quite sure which textures you are supposed to leave out when your choosing the textures you want to use. According to the installation instructions, you can just copy paste whatever textures you want, BUT when i go to ex. the portraits folder, there are several images that are completely identical, aside from a different filename. As far as i understand, this is because the game uses different ID's for the same textures depending on where in the game you are. If, so, then in order to use that particular custom texture in as many places as possible, i have to copy every single instance of that texture/picture? Is this correct or am i missing something?
2. Also, when i tried to use the textures that i had selected yesterday, the textures didn't work. I've followed the instructions carefully, so i don't think i've done anything wrong. Does this texture pack only work with certain builds? I'm using an old revision, 6856M, from Mylek if remember correctly. Could this the problem. This build has always worked perfectly for me, so i've never bothered to change to a newer revision. I will test with a recent build once i get home, but maybe someone can tell me now if this is infact the problem.
Thanks in advance
1. You are correct. This will also be the reason why some textures won't show up in the game. There are so many times one texture repeats that it's almost impossible to gather them all. One good example are the menu buttons when you press the - sign. They'll work sometimes, but the person who dumped these images didn't test out all possibilities such as day, night, rainy, thunderstorm, heat wave, star fall, etc.
2. That's a very old build. Try using one of the latest 3.0 revision with the HLE patch.
Fun Fact: You posted a posted with the key words "6856M from Mylek" exactly a year ago.
