I'm getting artifacts in Ether Mine, but simply turning it off the custom textures fixes it. Free Looking also tends to mess it up too whether customs textures is turned on or not. During more than 80 hours of playing Xenoblade, Dolphin crashed 4 times. Two times in the middle of the game when loading high polygon objects with Lectrodes older HLE Patch build and two times when opening the map and navigating to Colony 6 with a current 3.0-750 HLE patched build by Anti-Ultimate. The last two crashes may or may not be caused by the v3 texture pack. Ill try to reproduce the crash one more time to be sure.
Did anyone here experience rare crashes when selecting Colony 6 in the map menu too? (Open Map -> Select Colony 6 -> Crash, sometimes) Update: Sucessfully reproduced the crash, only happens when Load custom textures is enabled. Go to Ether Mine and open the map -> Crash. 08-29-2012, 08:25 AM

Ether Mine is right below it if I remember correctly and I took out the image for it because it wasn't textured. Apparently, that's been crashing the game. Try with the v4 pack. I added the Ether Mine image back.

The crash happens as soon as you open the map screen but you have to be in Ether Mine. The crash is the happening 100& of the time and is clearly reproducible. It has nothing to do with Colony 6.
I will try and report back later but if the texture is not there, shouldn't the original one be used automatically? I'd guess the problem is located within a faulty Ether Mine map menu background texture. 08-29-2012, 05:25 PM

I thought I turned it off :x (08-29-2012, 10:38 AM)etking Wrote: The crash happens as soon as you open the map screen but you have to be in Ether Mine. Maybe a bug? Regardless, I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has contributed (retextured, dumped, found fonts, reported bugs, etc.) so far. I just finished a bit more than 2/3rds of the game (in Mechonis Field) and the game looks absolutely fantastic. Awhile ago, I asked if people can take some screenies without any major spoilers in them. Is anyone up for the job? I wrote a bash script to install the latest version (4.0) retexture. Just put it in the "[XbC HD Retexture ..." folder and run it using $bash linux_install.sh. You may have to edit your dolphin directory if it is not the default $HOME/.dolphin-emu/. Let me know if you have any issues. This will also work for future releases, provided the directory structure is not changed, but it is easily updated. I may also make a batch file for Windows users in the future.

poweredbykimchi! Your v4.0U package includes original low res version of that SX4P01_25b5a47c_14.png "Ether Mine" map screen-shot.
Here you can find better high-res one cut down to proper 640x380 size like rest of the map screenshots. I also tweaked little bit my hi-res night sky texture. My first attemt after playing for awhile felt to "busy". More sparse feels more natural. Also texture file sizes got a lot smaller after I started to use proper editor - Photoshop CS6. I retextured the buttons for the Wiimote. They're not perfect since this is my first time recreating something completely from scratch, so if you can improve it, go ahead and please do share it.

Hey everyone
Please excuse my noobness but this is the first time i have tried to use custom textures with any game and i'm a bit in the dark about something: 1. I'm not quite sure which textures you are supposed to leave out when your choosing the textures you want to use. According to the installation instructions, you can just copy paste whatever textures you want, BUT when i go to ex. the portraits folder, there are several images that are completely identical, aside from a different filename. As far as i understand, this is because the game uses different ID's for the same textures depending on where in the game you are. If, so, then in order to use that particular custom texture in as many places as possible, i have to copy every single instance of that texture/picture? Is this correct or am i missing something? 2. Also, when i tried to use the textures that i had selected yesterday, the textures didn't work. I've followed the instructions carefully, so i don't think i've done anything wrong. Does this texture pack only work with certain builds? I'm using an old revision, 6856M, from Mylek if remember correctly. Could this the problem. This build has always worked perfectly for me, so i've never bothered to change to a newer revision. I will test with a recent build once i get home, but maybe someone can tell me now if this is infact the problem. Thanks in advance
