Pentium G4400, i3-6100T, or i5-6400T. Below is a brief synopsis of why I'm considering each one.

Pentium G4400: cheap, duel core 3.3GHz, I believe it can be overlocked, TDP 54W

i3-6100t: better integrated graphics (530 950MHz), duel core 3.2GHz hyperthreading, TDP 35W
i5-6400t: TDP 35W, quad core, bigger cache, 2.2GHz with turbo boost to 2.8GHz

If I want to stay cheap I'll get the Pentium. The i3 is about twice the price of the pentium and the i5 is just slightly more expensive than the i3. The choice between the i3 and i5 isn't so clear.  Which would perform better?  The i3 is 1GHz faster than the i5 but has two less cores and less cache. Would I even notice any difference between these three processors in Dolphin with a GeForce GTX 750Ti?

Thanks in advance.
Are you just looking for a cheap processor that will play Dolphin well? Or are these just the ones you happened to be looking at?
Because the i3 will outperform the Pentium due to the fact that it has hyper-threading.
The i5 will actually be the slowest in Dolphin due to having the lowest clock speed.
The G4400 can only be overclocked if you find a motherboard that hasn't had the Intel microcode update installed.

If you just want good Dolphin gaming with some good PC gaming, would recommend just getting the i3-6100 as it is slightly cheaper than the i3-6100T and has a higher clock speed.

and you will have to disable Windows Update for the rest of your life

Btw , why did you choose low power i5/i3 over G4400 which you want to overclock . Keep in mind , OCed Pentium can reach 80W+ TDP which is much higher than most i3 . Isn't i3 6100 @ 3.7GHz (51W) much better than the rest ?

Nevermind overclocking!!!

I'm leaning towards the i3-6100T
Any reason though? its more expensive and clocked lower than the i3-6100

The 35W TDP gets me off
the i3-6100 has a 47 TDP, lower than the G4400. The Intel cooler easily handles this, and the impact is negligible on how much electricity it consumes.
I have an i3 6320 in my emulator box and it can handle almost everything. I haven't tried SMG2 yet but it can run all of RS2 in game (2 levels have cut scene lag) and almost all of RS3 in game just a few levels and cut scenes get really bad lag in RS3.

But the 6320 is clocked at 3.9GHZ

Yeah I think I'm ditching the G4400 for the i3-6100T.  Unless I can find a G4400T....which I can't
