I'm just trying to figure out for what reason you want a lower TDP beyond just "it gets me off"

If you were using a Pico PSU like admin89 suggested, that would be justifiable. But since you haven't, I'm just really curious as to why you would intentionally get a CPU that costs more and is slower.
Just take a look at his other thread "HTPC build" , there is a link about what power supply he's going to use
