I am well aware of the DirectX Download but the installer does not work for me and I run Windows XP so is there any other way of fixing this?

ok are you talking about a pad plugin or the video plugin it if the video one you need to download this

P.S R4273 break the DX9 plugin and R4275 fix it

I've downloaded that and it fails when I try to install it.

For the plugin I get Error loading Plugins/Plugin_Padsimple.dll: can't read info

DirectX says it's downloading the file then errors me with: Setup cannot download the file. Please retry later or check Network connection.

I disabled both but still no luck. I still get the Setup cannot download the file error.

Are you using a router?

Yes but I can't actually access the router itself as I don't know the password

then just connect the WAN cable from the router to your pc
