I am well aware of the DirectX Download but the installer does not work for me and I run Windows XP so is there any other way of fixing this?

ok are you talking about a pad plugin or the video plugin it if the video one you need to download this

It gives you an error or something?

CPU : Intel Core i7 2600k @ 3.4 GHz (stock clock)
Gfx : ATI Raedon HD 6850
Ram : 4 GB DDR3-1333

For the plugin I get Error loading Plugins/Plugin_Padsimple.dll: can't read info

DirectX says it's downloading the file then errors me with: Setup cannot download the file. Please retry later or check Network connection.

I've been trying since last night to get this installed.

idk Maybe the firewall or your antivirus

I don't recommend to disable both , but If that the only way...

I disabled both but still no luck. I still get the Setup cannot download the file error.

then just connect the WAN cable from the router to your pc
