On Software Renderer, Dolphin 4.0-1983, with "Bypass XFB" unchecked, Super Mario Sunshine, white pixels (and some others) appear to be corrupted, causing bright colors to appear instead. I don't think anyone cares about Software Renderer though. This does not happen with "Bypass XFB" checked.

Also, the water emulation is really messed up, resulting in a checkerboard pattern.

Nobody uses software renderer, does it even matter?
Theoretically, software renderer is supposed to be perfect so that devs can test issues in CPU/DSP emulation without errors introduced elsewhere, so for a lot of devs it's the most important backend.

It took ten minutes of pure frustration to even go over there, including one failed minute-long hover.

yes.
So Mods/Devs can bypass the 5char limit?

Is it normal for xfb to cause minor color fringing? (not the same as color corruption when a color channel is maxed out)
Water corruption: present in 4.0.2 (not reported yet)
XFB corruption: started in 4.0-1759 (8fc83d8ffca75f86c144a7798ebf0661a1eb68ef) (std min max) https://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/is...il?id=7439
