I don't understand why just one of my cores is used at 100%. Is that normal?
Have you got Enable Dual Core checked in the settings?

Also, Dolphin is only optimised for Dual Core.
I don't know the specifics but apparently Quad Core wouldn't bring that much of a performance enhancement.
Yes, I have it enable.

I see. =( thanks!

Ok what your problem is a assume is your CPU affinity.
try this,

Ctrl+Alt+Delete when you have dolphin open
then go to your task manager, right click the dolphin task and choose the set affinity part.

Now a window should pop up and if your using quad core it should have 4 boxs and i think at default only one is checked.
so check them all and all Cpus will have max access

There are all already checked >_<
Don't worry about it. I get that too. The core that is hitting ~100% is emulating the Wii/GC's PPC processor, which uses a lot of CPU power. The other core is the one emulating the Wii/GC's GPU which isn't as high a MHz as the PPC, so doesn't use as much power. (The PPC is clocked at about 485[GC]/729[Wii]MHz, and the GPU 192[GC]/243[Wii]MHz)

Hope that answers your question! Big Grin

Yeah.
I watch mine sometimes when im playing.
on my G15 LCD monitor usually the 1st 2 cores pump out 100% and the other ones dont really do much.
Usually use about 50-70% Cpu while playing Wii games
30 with GC games
Ok, thanks alot for reply! =)
that fails that only one cpu is used to emulate the wiis cpu... seems like a waste of processing power not to utilize the leftover in the gpu processor Undecided
Yeah that part i do not understand. Wish i could use 100% off my CPU.
tested it at 100% for hours its perfectly stable and stays at 32C
