Hello there, i got a problem with Super Mario Galaxy 2...
It is that i cant get over 30 fps in some scenes (Like on the "mothership")... it allways runs with 32 fps max! No matter what efb scale i set up.. even with AA and stuff deactivated it stay at 32 fps...
Maybe an important detail; at scenes where the camera is close to mario, the game runs like a charm!

My Hardware is;

Amd Athlon x2 640 3,0ghz
8 GB DDR3 Ram
Amd Radeon 6970HD graphic

I know my cpu is way too slow for my gpu...
But i'm not sure if it could be to slow for SMG2 too? You think i should upgrade the cpu now? Espacially do u think i could play SMG2 at 60 fps if i had a AMD FX-8150 for example? Couse this would be my choice as next cpu... since my board is a AM3 board Tongue
There is pretty much no chance for you to play SMG 2 full speed with an Athlon or Bulldozer (faildozer) CPU. Your only real option is tk build a new PC like mine (specs in sig).

Do yourself a favor. Get yourself an I5.

Or get a Phenom 2 x4 965, they're only $100.
(Phenom 2 has no chance of running fullspeed but it will give a small improvement and a big improvement in PC games.)
Get an i5 3570K + Z77 mobo if you can support it. This is the ultimate Dolphin setup (and works wonders for PC games too).

Agreed 100%

Keep the GPU, it's golden.
What exact model GPU is it?
FX-8150 will run SMG2 fullspeed or close to fullspeed with HLE backend . However , this game need LLE backend to play , Fx-8150 performs extremely bad with LLE backend even if you overclock it
Therefore , i5 2500k @ 4.4GHz or i5 3570k 4.2GHz is a must

All he needs is a new Mobo and the CPU.

That is a decent deal.

U mean my GPU? If yes.. its the Sapphire Dual Fan edition

I dunno rlly if i should purchase a new mobo since a got a asus formula for around 200$ :S

So i still wanna know.. could i run SMG 2 with a FX8150 (maybe oc'd) at more than 50 fps or not? Tongue

And why does the game need LLE insteal HLE (like Admin89 said) oO i used HLE and it worked
GPU model number?
6970? 6990?

If you don't plan on getting an i5, than no fullspeed.

But don't get an FX-8150, get a Phenom 2 x4 965, much faster.
Not fullspeed, but much faster.

Sound cuts out with HLE and certain levels cannot be completed without crashing the emulator.

In other words: Be prepared to overclock. A LOT.
