I'm actually thinking about doing it...
Compared with 3570k there is no real advantage getting a 3770k. You can read this thread http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=24153
The I7 is NOT any faster in dolphin.
You will see no improvement and may in fact see a decrease in performance.
Use the money to buy a nice cooler or something instead.
Quote:But don't get an FX-8150, get a Phenom 2 x4 965, much faster.
Not fullspeed, but much faster.
Actually they perform pretty similarly in applications like dolphin. The phenom II is not "much faster". Bulldozer isn't really an upgrade from phenom II but it isn't really a downgrade either (depending on the specific application), it's a sidegrade.

You'd know all about sidegrades, wouldn't you?
Be that as it may, that would make the 4170 the faster processor at stock settings.
My bad.

I finally bought this: http://www.caseking.de/shop/catalog/King-Mod-OC-Aufruest-Bundle-ASUS-Sabertooth-Intel-3570K-32-16GB::20103.html
Its the I5 3570k oc'd to 4,5 GHZ turbo
on the Asus Sabertooth board with z77 chip
in addition i get 16GB of ram
i found a buyer for my old system... i will get 300$ for my old mobo and cpu and ram
pretty good deal i think
So do you guys think i can run all dolphin games at fullspeed with this hardware or not?
Thats a bit overpriced.
Keeping the GPU?
You should get fullspeed in just about everything, sans a few titles no processor can currently run at fullspeed.

But i keep guarantee on an overclocked cpu...
dunno.. but i think its worth it...
It should be worth it.
Especially if you keep that GPU.

3570k is the best deal these days. Good choice definitively.
I see you chose the Sabertooth. What decided you for this MoBo?
I've been planning to get this one too for my future build but I'm still hesitating
