Hey guys, I'm building a new PC. One of the reasons why I'm building it is actually for PS2/GC/Wii emulation, so I thought I'd run the specs through here first. I'm looking to want to play games at full 1080p, and hopefully some AA (although at 1080p, 2x should be enough).

Intel Core i5 2500K 3.4Ghz Sandy Bridge Processor
ATi Radeon HD5870 1GB
8GB DDR3 1333Mhz RAM

Shouldn't make much difference, but I'd also be playing the games full screen. I'd also invest in a bluetooth adaptor to get Wii Remote syncing, are there any specific bluetooth dongles I should use or will any old dongle do now (I remember a couple of years ago only specific dongles worked with GlovePIE, wasn't sure if this was the same deal).

So, should these specs let me game at 1080p? And if not, what exactly should I change? Don't make ridiculous upgrade suggestions (i.e. get a Core i7 980X 4.2Ghz) unless it's absolutely essential to get it running at 1080p. Thanks!

EDIT: I guess I should say that while 60FPS is nice, 30FPS should be good enough.
If your monitor support 1080p then the answer is :
1920x1080
AA : 4x
Anisotropic Filter : 16x (any GPU could do)
Scale : intergral or 2x , 3x

I would get a 5950 and unlock it to a 5970

What?
I'll get a Geforce 560Ti not a Radeon 5870 !
the i5 2500k is running at 3.3ghz! not 3.4ghz Wink

but jeah nice cpu with a good aircooler you can beat that thing in 1-3years to easy 4.4ghz

So after doing some research, I decided the GTX 560Ti is probably better suited to me (or the differences are minimal where the 560 underperforms, but where it over performs its miles better).

Oh, as a footnote (rofl) I'm probably going to be swapping my Core i5 to the SUPER AWESOME Core i7 2600K Smile I figured I really want a PC that's going to last, and the extra £100 to get a much better GPU and a much better CPU? It'll sting at first, but it'll pay in dividends later on down the line.
560Ti ! NICE , EVGA are Great , but obviously the MSI Hawk is pretty much cooler !

For your CPU I think a 2500K and better cooling is better

Otherwise a 2600k is GREAT !
