I can't belive I actually did this, it's insane.
Though I am using water cooling from Antec, the Khüler H2O 620 so I'm not surprised.

I'm sad to say at this stage it wasn't stable, it failed the stability test when I tried to Prime it for 12 hours.

But I got to tell you that ASUS EFI Bios is absolutely amazing, OC is so got damn easy.

I'm trying to settle with 4.4GHz or something, you can't be to greedy.
But even at stock it's an amazing boost from the Q9650

More pictures soon when I have some more time.

So what FPS do you get in the typical slow games/places?? (Metroid Prime Chozo Ruins main room, SMG Observatory)
Hmm I'm sorry to say that I've just started playing with this baby.
Before I start playing games with it I want to find a OC level that is stable.

SMG I do not have, but Metroid Prime I do and I belive that I can achive fullspeed in the most demanding areas once I tame this wild beast.

As soon as I'm done I will start posting pics from at least the games I own.
Hyrule Field in TP is something I sure as hell would like to try with one of the latest SVNs just to see how it works.

You'll be hearing from me soon.
iam happy for the swedisch guy Wink
4.4ghz should be the choice between speed, durability, temp, vcore

now tell me... after you tryed metroide prime
with rig 1 and rig 2 at stock speed...
where you get more performance

then disable fps limit!
and run nighthawk @4.4++
and post the difference
i want to see how good the sandybridge is scaling...
you're going to kill the core if your voltage is higher than 1.35

thats not true...
1.35 is only the max specification of Intel Wink
everything above is OC

and dont forget to deactivate the automatic vcore change...
i forgot the bios name for it
something with loadbalance
that is max for good reason the core degrades 100x faster above 1.35v compared to first gen i7
OMG!!! 4.9GHz :O... you're insane
I hope he has insurance.

Ok here's an update on the OC

4.9GHz was a little bit to much but it was mainly for showing off Big Grin

As I mentioned earlier 4.4GHz was something I could settle with.

Well that's what I got, around ~4.4GHz (4429.9 MHz) with Core Voltage 1.272 V

I also did a push fan setup with the water cooling installation so the rig is as good as complete now....finally

I'm currently doing a Prime test run to see how it goes but I'm feeling confident.
I will start playing games this week to see how this puppy performs.

Now it's really late so it's time to go to sleep.
