Hi!
I have kinda of a prob here. I have a Phenom II 955 and the performance with Dolphin (x64 r6321) is a terrible. I tried Mario Kart Double Dash and Mario Party 4 and 7, and the frame rate barely stays at 30 fps in game (it only hits 60 on title screens). The thing is, I've tried the same emulator with the same settings and roms on a Q6600 and there it works flawlessly. Performance is great and I get constant FPS between 50-60.
So, the Q6600 is clearly inferior to the Phenom II 955. Is Dolphin optimized only for Intel? Or what is happening here?
PS: I tried with the Direct3D9 plugin and checking "to texture" in the options. The rest is "out of the box". Both CPUs were at their stock clocks.
Edit: Bleh, forget it. Going at minimum res (800x600) makes the fps go to 40-45, sometimes 50. Seems like my crappy HD4200 is killing me here. I thought this was based on CPU power, but actually my GPU is limiting. Well, I'm out of luck with my little Phenom

Lol, well actually at 800x600 the games are playable in the HD4200. There's an occasional FPS hiccup, but only for a millisecond when the level starts for example. And it doesn't look SO terrible, so I guess I'll be playing like this
Now I have another problem, and it's the second controller. I can't make the player 2 controls to work, even if I configure the controls properly and they are working in the config screen. Not even the keyboard works for player 2. Weird <.<
You're citing Memory benchmarks for your continued fail?
1. All releases of Everest are flawed in benchmarking. All tests must be redone on AIDA64 now that the benches have been thoroughly optimised for Intel Core and i7 architectures. (Previously they only benefitted from up to a flawwed implementation of SSE2.
2. AMD Phenoms have shockingly poor SSE2 and 3 performance.
3. AMD's don't even have SSSE3 or SSE4.
4. Go back to Stupid Galaxy.

And in your stupid review they take an OVERCLOCKED Q6600 at 3GHz and a Phenom II 940. How about a review with a Q6600 and 955 at their STOCK speeds? Or maybe it's asking too much?

Well, intel archtecture(speed/performance) in this moment is better than amd (im talking about bloomfield and gulftown processors) but a Phenom II X4 955 is better than Q6600, of course. Maybe ur GPU is causing a bottleneck. Try changing the gpu, and test your games again.

You don't compare Processors in any other way than at matching Clock rates.
