sure it is, he made it as such in his opening post.
Well then I guess I'll prepare myself by getting my flameshield ready:

You don't compare Processors in any other way than at matching Clock rates.

Quote:Well, intel archtecture(speed/performance) in this moment is better than amd (im talking about bloomfield and gulftown processors) but a Phenom II X4 955 is better than Q6600, of course. Maybe ur GPU is causing a bottleneck. Try changing the gpu, and test your games again.

Clock for Clock, no it isn't.

Ok... AMD is better than intel (¿?)...

Bye.
I've showed Squal a benchmark on irc that shows both of the CPU's in question here running at stock speeds and the Phenom beat out the Q6600. Of course Squal failed to acknowledge the test and says the only way to really test is to "underclock" the Phenom so that it and the Q6600 are running at similar speeds. I say that is ridiculous and I'll explain why. If I have a Ferrari and you have a Honda and we race them and you lose, you then can't say that I only won because I had a Ferrari engine and you have a Honda engine. You cannot then ask me to put a Honda engine in my Ferrari so that we can have an "even race". It is what it is (the car or the processor) out of the box. The Phenom is just plan better in its current form, that's why people bought the Ferrari to begin with.
Fail analogy is fail.

You don't compare 2 cars of different Classes for starters. Comparing the performance of a 2.6Ghz processor against one clocked 600Mhz more is like comparing a 4 cylinder engine to a 12 cylinder BMW motor.

Even at stock the Q6600 has things it performs better at because of its better SSE pipelines, te Q6600 has better raw performance clock for clock than any 4 core AMD chip of the same clock rate.

Regardless, Core 2 or PHII, both are dead ends as the platforms for both have reached EoL
