Hey there, I know that there's another thread about what pc to buy, but i want to buy something pretty powerful.

Well, what I intend to make is a HTPC, capable of running both dolphin and pcsx2, both at FULLSPEED, and my deadline for buying it is may 20, 2011. I know it's almost a year ahead, and the parts are pretty expensive, but here's my situation: I'm saving like 131 USD a month (That would be= 1.441USD in may 2011), and the parts here in chile are priced like in this example:

XMS3 DDR3 6Gb 1333Mhz PC3-10600 (3x2Gb) TR3X6G1333C9 = 276 USD
Western Digital HDD Sata2 1 Tb 7200 rpm = 124 USD
CPU Phenom II X4 955 Box (AM3) = 218 USD
Mobo AMD 790FX-GD70 A/L (AM3) = 249 USD
Source: PCFACTORY.CL

Well that's just for an example, any suggestions on what parts should i look for and what should accomplish my objectives? I'm not good at OC and prefer to avoid that option, i don't want to overheat something as expensive as that.

I just want to know about processor, mobo, video card, ram.

Thanks.

I haven't really selected any mobo yet, the one i posted was for pricing reference only.
And, those cards look pretty good, but i'm looking forward to something like this: Video Vapor-X PCIE HD5770 1024mb DDR5 Priced in 266 USD

Dude, that card is 528 USD here, pricing sucks, but maybe that's what i'll buy in the future.
oh..what country do you live in i could try to get you some deals
Radeon 5870 or 5970 is overkill for dolphin and pcsx2. You don't need a card that powerful just to emulate ps2 and gc/wii games.

You can get full speed with a Radeon 5570 that costs less than 90 dollars and supports hardware level dx11 rendering. There are currently no nvidia cards supporting dx11 except the gtx400+ series which are $350-$500.

I live in Chile, the currency here is CLP (Chilean Peso)

Remember, I'm hoping to buy it next year, because I don't have anywhere to place it right now.

And sorry for the late answer, university had me ocupped.

Technology changes so fast it'd be silly to plan on what to buy now.

In fact in terms of GPU's ATI's next generation will be released in Q1 2011. In terms of CPU's the next generation from Intel starts Q3-Q4 of 2011 IIRC. Not sure when AMD will be releasing it's next gen though. They just released 6 core CPU's so I'd expect around the same time as Intel.
