Mediafire links are down. This is not the first time this pack has been a target of so-called copyright infringement due to its popularity. I've battled these claims with Mega before and they just ignored me and kept taking down my packs, so I'm not even going to bother with Mediafire. One idea is to name the pack to something obscure, encrypt the file names, and add a password which obviously doesn't guarantee it will remain online but will definitely extend the longevity. I'm also going to putting the pack up on Github soon, which may eventually just take over as the standard download link. For now the Dropbox links are still online, but it wouldn't be a surprise if they were taken down soon. And the 4shared links are still up, I like that host because usually they don't give a shit.

It's just crazy to me how "anti-piracy" everything has become. Like, the pack contains no game files. It's not like someone can download the pack and play a free game.
It's really frustrating.
@Bighead:
Too bad for mediafire...stupid automated process... Here we go for the first armor pack, it's the "stellar" armor and it's recolors for Shulk : Shulk_Armor_Set_1 (PNG).7z Shulk_Armor_Set_1 (DDS).7z The more I look into armor textures, the more I understand the colossal work a full redraw would be...Fortunately, as it was already said earlier on this thread, the "work" I made on them is enough to visually enhance them and render better with the rest of the texture pack than vanilla ones so I hope you will still enjoy them More will follow of course (will do my best to contribute, even at my poor level), as much as I can, depending of my spare time and if I like the armor look

Looks really good, toto.
If it's not a huge deal, would it be okay for you to export / upload in PNG? We would prefer to have PNG for backup purposes in case we ever move away from DDS. We want to avoid converting from DDS back to PNG if we can. 06-16-2015, 05:50 AM

Ridiculous attitude, we are owners of our work, there is no copyright in this, I have the game ORIGINAL have Wii (but prefer to play on the emulator) and I have two Xenoblade discs, one was the package with red classic controller pro, and no one can prevent me from using or texturing my game as it is now for personal use, and yet the textures is our property belonging to the Forum, someone might be bothering with this package, I'm realizing this, a few weeks. Bighead, tried to rename and remove the ".rar" telling users that there will be a need to add this extension? We are pirating what? Our intellectual capacity and artistic belongs to whom? 06-16-2015, 05:55 AM
@BrunoFBK:
Nintendo is know to be overprotective with their products and send lawyers for all and nothing...I presume they do not understand the concept of "fan made" things...They recently crushed a poor student who made fan project of Mario 64 for PC with unity engine...

This already happens to me with ishiiruka links, when a link get high hit rate and starts to appear high rank in the search engines mega and 4shares just remove them alleging copyright problems. A good tip to avoid the problem is hide the links using a url shortener that eliminate the problem of the search engines a reduces the possibility of automatic link elimination.

Thanks, toto.
And, yeah Bruno, we're both angry too. I actually had a couple things reported too, most importantly my dump archive from the OP. I have a more recent dump pack anyway the Bighead has failed to link on the OP, I'm wondering if I should upload it elsewhere for now. Armor and Weapons Dumps (WIP) Edit: Changed download location |
