I leave mine set to texture. The only thing it seems to effect is the snapshot on your save file. Which is basically useless. So stick with texture if it's working better for you, I think it's the default setting anyway.

@ ziday and TheLEDkiller: Try deleting the contents of your ShaderCache folder under User\Documents\Dolphin Emulator.
And EFB2RAM is not needed for this game. The only issue you'll have with EFB2texture is that the little screenshots next to your save files will be glitchy, that's all. EDIT: And ziday, maybe you accidentally only downloaded and installed "v6.0-v6.0b Update"?

If you have the following:
1) latest hd pack (6.0 + 6.0b update) 2) latest dolphin (4.0-5359 is the latest current version) 3) 30 fps patched Europe region game 4) folder renamed to sx4j01 5) load custom texture checked in settings Then it should load up. If none of those things then double check that the folder is in the correct location. You will also want to make sure that you internal resolution is set higher than 1x otherwise the game will look like crap no matter what.
Just want to make sure but with the newest version we no longer have to load an English save first if we want to play with Japanese voices, right? I noticed this was removed from the instructions (unless I'm just missing it...) but wanted to make sure since I would feel very anxious wondering if my textures were being all they could be otherwise.
Also sorry if this was asked before but I am playing for the first time (well, technically I played the game on first release on original hardware but never finished it and stalled after 20h or so) and don't want to risk spoilers by reading the other posts in too much detail. 01-29-2015, 09:51 AM

I was wondering this too. Such a massive improvement with 6.0 and the new custom texture format! Thanks to everyone involved. 01-29-2015, 11:51 AM

Yes, all texture hashes are now the same and the textures should work no matter what. Before they would change based on game region, language, texture accuracy setting, and a couple other things that are too complicated to really go into. Now every texture has the same hash always regardless of dolphin settings and game options.
The only thing to make sure of is that the folder in your dolphin/load/textures folder must have the correct ID for your region: SX4E01 for US SX4P01 for Europe with no FPS patch SX4J01 for Japan and Europe with the FPS patch (01-29-2015, 03:19 AM)GamingPhailer Wrote: Edit: Although, I do kinda want to know what the EFB thing does.... Let's wait until someone has an answer for me regarding that. There's only four noticeable things EFB to RAM affects in this game from my experience: 1. The save file screens. 2. Lighting effect used around cave exits. 3. Fog/light effect used in High Entia Tomb. 4. Glow of the Monado III / ether crystal deposits. Does nothing to affect textures themselves. Also, External Frame Buffer set to "Virtual" may help to minimize potential FIFO overflowng by gatherpipe errors when in dual core, which again has nothing to do with dumping but rather stability. Eryth Sea can be most prone to these errors. To dump textures correctly, you just check "dump textures". C:\Users\UserName\Documents\Dolphin Emulator\Load\Textures\SX4J01 Or wherever you keep your dolphin user folder, and assuming you are using Europe game with 30FPS patch. 01-29-2015, 08:02 PM

Decided to ditch the hole metal on the Metal Monado II. It was tiled poorly, which is really a shame.
I also created a couple new FX for the Metal Monados. It replaces the lightning effects for the Monado II in the open state, as well as cutscene FX for all monados, with a blue static looking effect. It looks pretty spiffy in action, but here's a screenshot. It's a pretty simple texture for the FX, I might add more to it later. Spoiler: Here's the new Metal Monado FX _Monado_FX_-_Metal.rar]Metal Monado FX Just drop those files in your monado folder and merge/overwrite. 01-29-2015, 09:26 PM
I'm thinking of playing this game (for the first time) purely because the team here that has made the HD pack, has converted me, due to the HD pack!
