Thanks for your contributions I plan on playing Xenoblade again pretty soon, since Xenoblade 2 was announced recently and it kind of made me want to go back and play again. I'm probably going to do a few retextures while I go through, if I see anything I'm capable of doing. Environments are not my forte. 01-29-2017, 04:26 AM
Hello everybody,
Does anyone knows where te unretextured files are. I want to learn how to retexture and eventually even help retexturing. 01-29-2017, 07:23 AM

We can only post files that have been retextured - as those textures can be relabeled as completely new images that we have taken creative liberties with - despite them being very similar to the originals. I believe Bighead was going to post a collection of save files containing the armor/weapons in the party inventory, so that people can dump their own textures easily. I think he said he would be doing some uploading after the first of February, so I'd check back then unless he can sneak in the save pack earlier. Edit: Here is a collection of saves that should have all of the armor and weapons in the inventory in order to dump the desired textures: (This pack contains no textures or images of any sort, just save files and a few simple ReadMe txt files) http://www.filedropper.com/xenobladearmorweaponsaves Bighead, toss this up on the front page please
I've recently got back into modding Xenoblade Chronicles again and I've got something really exciting to show.
I was able to increase the draw distance of the game. Here is a screenshot for comparison. Before: http://puu.sh/tJWwn/0ec7abb401.png After: http://puu.sh/tJWV1/130c799b9f.png As you can see the draw distance hasn't just been increased but they are also in their high poly state. The only objects that still spawn as you wander around are the npc's cause they have not yet been patched. Be warned!!! CPU cost (in my case) has drastically increased. GPU remains almost the same. Granted my CPU isn't the best one out there I was still shocked by the performance hit. However it's so worth it. Once you installed this patch I can guarantee you that you can't go back . The difference is like day and night. I've also learned from my mistakes in the past. I noticed a lot of people had trouble getting my mods to be properly installed. I've spend the last six months learning alot about C# and I'm glad to announce that I have a new method of installing the patch. I wrote a very simple setup.exe program. The only thing you have to do is run the program and select your Xenoblade iso file and hit that install button. I also want to thank the creators of Wiimm for making this new method possible. My setup.exe is actually only a GUI of their tools allowing for this new and easy install method. I only patched Colony 9 as of know due to testing purposes. It also only works for the NTSC version of the game. PAL and NTSC-J are not yet supported due to regional differences. Enjoy and please report back any issues! Very cool and interesting.
I'm wondering what impact this has on how mipmaps function. 02-02-2017, 09:58 AM
That sounds awsome! thanks! Hope you will port this to others regions too soon, can't wait to try it

This is probably the greatest texture project of all time, I hope you guys keep up the good work. I would hate to see a good project like this die, its what got me started using dolphin in the first place! Back then i was just a simple Wii home brewer. Then I discovered this pack while looking for gecko codes, and then I discovered dolphin. You guys made this game look amazing, and are probably the coolest people ever. If it wasn't for this pack I wouldn't have discovered coding and probably wouldn't have become a computer science major. You guys changed my life.

Version 8.0 is out!
Sorry for the delay, I'm about a month and a day late from when I wanted to upload this. As always, DDS is ready now, PNG will be up within the next few hours. |
