I am currently making a program that converts a Wii U's OTP file into a BootMii keys.bin file. At first, I encountered a bug where I had access to someone else's Wii Shop Account but after further testing, I was only able to access my own account as intended. I was thinking of making a new thread here to ask people for some help to test my program with their Wii U otp.bin and see if they are suffering the same bug I encountered.

However, I know that the Dolphin Team is very strict about privacy and (besides being banned) I don't want to disrespect this forum by releasing a tool that can unintentionally give people access to other people's Wii Shop Accounts. My intention with this test is to see A) how likely people are going to be affected by this bug and B) if there is a pattern to how these bugs are caused.

Edit: When I said here, I meant on this forum in general.

I don't think the other moderators really ban people for "gray" area stuff like that, if it's getting out of hand the thread can be locked. It's only blatant stuff that gets instant banned usually.

Your program, in my opinion, is completely legitimate in this case. You're not illegally distributing any files and it should be fine.

I think after my summer school, I will release the program and ask people here to test the program. If the other testers get access to the exact same account (the other person's account I somehow got access to), then I think I might have a theory.

Thank you for replying.

My only worry about this is that users might post their otp.bin or keys.bin publicly and ask for you to convert them. It sounds silly but um... users...

If a user posts their encryption keys, please report it (use the "other" option, type it "user exposed encryption keys" or something) and one of the moderators will come in and hide it!

I was actually worried about that too. I am going to add a disclaimer on both GitHub and on the thread. I will be sure to report anyone who posts their encryption key.
