Lol your link is always broken
Yeah, looks like they're managing the memory a bit better in Windows 8. Although it would be -cancelled out- if you use the Metro interface. Unless they change it... the only way to close those apps is to kill it via ctrl+alt+del. Else you'll have to wait a bit for it to close. It's definitely a good thing for the core desktop users An example below.. although a bit flawed, it should give an indication. These are from the Microsoft: Building Windows 8 Blog Windows 7 (with SP1) Windows 8 10-11-2011, 01:52 AM
Garteal: Your test pictures are misleading. No one knows what you have running and you have less processes running for Windows 8.
Asus Laptop: K53TA
OS: Windows 7 Home Premium, 64-Bit - SP1 CPU: AMD Llano A6-3400M, Quad-Core, 1.4GHz-2.6GHz (Overclocked) GPU: AMD Radeon HD6650M, 1GB GDDR3 (Catalyst 13.1) RAM: Samsung 4GB DDR3-1333
@Garteal
That's not just "a bit flawed" but fatally flawed, we need to know how long you've been running either OS and what process you're running and have been running before taking the screenshot. That shots mean nothing otherwise.
@SS & naoan
These are not mine, else I would have stated more detail. I merely translated it from one of the local sites I visit. But I just traced them, they're from the official Microsoft: Building Windows 8 Blog. They state that its a fresh install of both Win7SP1 and Win8, with multiple reboots and idling. You can see how long the OS is running in the "Up time" under System. If you're interested in reading in more details check them out here 10-11-2011, 04:30 AM
ah yeah, missed the up time (I never bother take a long look on built in task manager), that's the info we need though, interesting.

What are the new features besides Metro UI? I only see people talking about the new interface. What about Xbox Live integration, how does this work? and for God Sake tell me they found a place for putting my game/programs configs and files instead of throwing them at Documents?
I'll install the Developer Preview next weekend
