mamario, could you also publish sse4 builds, because it runs a lot faster then....

He won't, mamario compiles with an automated build bot and compatibility across the board for all systems needs to be ensured. I doubt mamario is going to make the effort to manually compile and upload separate builds. There's also the fact that Windows with VS2008 and the Intel C++ Compiler is needed, so no other choice but to compile manually which mamario won't do. Mamario also doesn't compile with patches since patches can break compilation of these automated builds, anyone who adds patches to their builds compiles builds manually in order to fix compilation issues that are a result of patches that have failed to merge when the svn trunk is updated. 07-18-2010, 10:40 PM

Is it just me, or are the builds now taking ages to compile?

Hey, I got an idea of sorts.
Every now and then, the SVN receives a revision that garners a lot of positive votes, they're usually significant performance boosts, important bug fixes or interesting new features. http://code.google.com/p/dolphin-emu/source/list Examples: r5954 with +15, r5919 with +14, r5870 with +19, r5846 with +44. So basically my idea is that you could create a mailing list that alerts users to these critically approved revisions, with information, reception rating and links to download the builds. Such a mailing list would be beneficial to anyone who doesn't check for updates often, and alternatively you could auto-publish a "last significant update" posting on the dolphin-emu.org frontpage. 07-24-2010, 02:04 PM

Then why is the Intel C++ compiler required when compiling optimized builds on Windows if it isn't needed? The Intel C++ compiler is listed as a requirement for compiling SSSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2 optimized builds. Hand coded optimizations can be compiled with MSVC++ and VS2008, but not compiler specific optimizations that optimize the code during the compile process, as VS2008 and MSVC++ lacks support for SSSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2 compiler optimizations. Unless Mamario is a coder (which he isn't) and can add these hand coded optimizations himself then he won't be able to optimize his builds for SSSE3, SSE4.1, SSE4.2 short of manually compiling and uploading separate builds. Iirc, VS2008/VC++ only supports SSE2 and SSE3 compiler optimizations, anything else needs to be hand coded like it is with PCSX2. I know, I checked and the VS2008/VC++ compiler only allows for SSE2 and SSE3 compiler optimizations, unless that changed with VS2010 which I doubt. 07-25-2010, 04:07 AM
For some reason I can never get my real wiimote to work with any of these builds, which sucks because it seems these ones are the most frequently updated. The builds by Xtreme2damax and Lectrode have no issues with my wiimote. The wiimote syncs up and all, it gives off a rumble and the blue LED for P1 comes on. But when I load a game, my mii channel, or even my dumped system menu, it doesn't register any button input. This does not happen on other people's builds, just these ones. I dunno if it's an issue on my end or an issue with the builds, just figured I'd point out that I've never been able to get a real wiimote working on these.
Dunno if it's useful to know or has anything to do with my issue, but my BT adapter is TRENDnet 105UB and I'm using the Broadcom drivers with WIDCOMM to sync up (here). 07-25-2010, 10:16 AM
Is it just me or does 5910 run faster than 5966 on dx11? I'm playing Harvest Moon: Animal Parade with same settings on both. Why is that?
