Possible, but I wouldn't advise it. Even if you can handle the combat the piano minigame will be torture.

Hi all, hopefully this thread isn't 100% dead yet, cause I'm a total noob when it comes to emulators in general, and boy do I need some help!
I'm a HUGE Fatal Frame fan, and I've always been totally bummed that I couldn't play Fatal Frame 4 (or 5 really, for that matter) because they never released it in the states. I was also bummed that it turned into a Wii game, because I was always a fan of it on the Playstation, but i'm not here to complain about THAT. Whatever, I finally decided, screw it, I'm gunna try it this way, cause this is the 21st century and that's a thing. I never considered it because it simply felt daunting to me. So, TL;DR, Got the game, booted it up, and here I am. To my utter surprised, it actually worked on the first try for me, I took that as a blessing. Got comfy with the game for about 15 minuets, learned the controls, figured out setting up a PS4 controlled to play it with. Boom, crash. Whatever, i tried again to see if it would crash on the same part, it didn't so I figured it temporary. I get fairly well into the first chapter, its been about 45 minuets to an hours now, no crashes, im feeling safe now. BOOM, crash. Ok. Weird. Nothing particular seems to cause the crashes. Sometimes I will just be walking down a hall, other times I will just finish fighting a ghost. It's inconsistent. Which makes me crazy because it makes me feel like I have no control over the situation. Which I don't. It wouldn't both me AT ALL if this wasn't a game with save points. I've already done the early on battle with the little boy about 5 times now because it keeps crashing before I get a chance to save. It takes the fun out of the game, and I just don't know how to fix it or if it's even something that can be fixed, i don't know where to begin because I don't know much about emulators... Sorry for the novel, hope someone can help. Maybe it's because i'm on Windows 10? I don't know. 04-15-2016, 02:07 PM

Try build 4.0-7739-x64. Yes it's an old build but maybe more stable. Until chapter two, ( with emulated wiimote ) i dont encounter any crashes or else. My specs is : Win 10 ATi R9 270 AMD 3,4 GHz RAM 8 GB There one freezes at chapter 2 cinematic, when you open the blanket to reveal the ghost (you'll know when you go there ) but it's skippable. 04-15-2016, 02:53 PM

Ok, the method of using an older version seemed to work wonders, I've been playing it for hours with not a single crash. So thank you for that!
It seems I've run into another problem though that I am truly stumped on... I'm in chapter 4 now, I know all about the issues chapter 4 seems to have, but I haven't come up to the ghost crash yet. I'm on the first piano puzzle in the dining room, and at first I was having the problem of not being able to click the keys, so I somehow fixed THAT, but now I'm on the problem of the note doesn't register, even if I'm clicking it right. When looking this up, I DID find solutions, but MY issue is... well, like I mentioned, i'm a noob to all this. Everyone is talking about forcing MMU, and no one explains HOW to do that, and I have no idea what that is. So, I'm not sure if this should be somewhere else, but any help would be highly appreciated! I tried looking it up, but I found nothing on it. So, maybe I'm just being stupid. I'm not using the above mentioned version, 4.0-7739-x64, if that makes any difference. 04-21-2016, 01:14 PM

Strange, that didn't happened to me. From what i know, i'm using 4.0-9207 ( this is also the best builds for metroid other M ) When i'm arrived at there, switched to default keyboard + mouse, and i pass that sequences normally. No need to "force MMU" thing. Try that build, because it works on me. 04-23-2016, 08:25 AM

Hi guys
I need help with two problems with Fatal Frame 4: -At the moment i'm using dolphin-master-4.0-9327-x64. On game start all i can see is the black screen. It never happened to me before. I can still play it without problems on Dolphin-win-x64-v3.0-409, but... -Recently i started new game and strangely i cannot pass the very first ghost battle. It won't die, doesn't matter how many photos i shoot. I hope you guys can help me with it. Thanks in advance Cheers 05-23-2016, 10:59 AM
Which video backend are you using? It's working for me on DX12 (aside from a horrible screen flickering caused by this stupid Windows Insider build...)
