Anyone managed to make it run decently on 2.6Gh quad (I don't really have a choice until summer)?

Ancient Core 2 Quad Q9450.
(overclocking isn't an option if this is what you have in mind) 04-17-2013, 09:26 AM

Even if you OCed that CPU to 3.6GHz , you couldn't get anywhere near full speed in lazulis town
2.6GHz is to slow Keep in mind that Dolphin is a dual core application Laptop: Youtube Channel (Vintage Tech/Watches) ::
E8500@4.05GHz ~60-70% speed in lazulis city. (I think I tried with around 3.0-5xx, might have changed since that)
Since Dolphin is only dual core I guess the Q9450 is pretty much equal clock for clock with an E8500. I do believe you need to push 5GHz+ on a Core2 class cpu for this game.

This game seems to work much faster in latest revisions, I can almost run it fullspeed with i5 2400 ( getting 27-28 fps in the main city, was getting 20-22 before )
Settings for best speed: Disable idle skipping ( provides HUGE speed boost in FMVs, around 50% ) Enable Vbeam ( provides around 20-30% speedup everywhere ) DSP on dedicated thread ( provides a little speedup when using LLE, and when using HLE does not seem to provide speedup, but is required when vbeam is used, or sound will be messed up ) 04-18-2013, 07:55 AM
