Overclocking laptops is inadvisable unless you know what you're doing and how to keep it cool. The only i7-2760 I know of is the i7-2760QM.
riak157, if you want, you can monitor your CPU with something like CPU-Z to confirm that it is turbo-boosting correctly (though that sounds like that's already the case). There's probably not much more speed you can wring out of your laptop, since upgrading that kind of hardware often means buying a whole new machine.

EDIT: Nevermind, CPU-Z has it running at 2.8. I wonder if there are some settings I can tweak to improve the cutscene quality.
When using Turbo Boost, the i7-2760QM may not use a certain amount of cores in addition to increasing its frequency. With CPU-Z, you should see a section called "Core Speed" hit one of these values if it's turbo boosting:
4 or 3 cores = 3.2 GHz 2 cores = 3.4 GHz 1 core = 3.5 GHz Alternatively, Intel provides their own program that can monitor turbo boosting if you feel like downloading it. Turbo boosting should always happen so long as you haven't disabled it through the BIOS or something like that and your computer can handle the temps. Since Dolphin is a dual-core application, you want to shoot for 3.4 GHz on your laptop. 01-16-2013, 01:16 PM
I just started playing this game again and noticed a small graphical anomaly. For some reason, in certain places, character models are much brighter than normal. This occurs in a few places, one of those places being Asgard like in this screen: http://i.imgur.com/6DOc2.jpg. Walking into a nearby building, the character models are normal: http://i.imgur.com/KCs14.jpg. Has anyone seen this problem before and is there a fix, or is it an issue with Dolphin?

Hi, i just want to ask something, 'cause i'm stuck at "fin" and i want another playthrough to unlock some new things, but is it true that dolphin doesn't support that "feature"?

Dolphin emulates the game (almost) perfectly, and new game+ works like it should.
Only the "good" and "normal" ending will allow you to start a new game+ game. The "bad" ending won't. If you've saved after the good and normal ending, then simply load up the cleared save file and you should be prompted for a new game+. 02-01-2013, 12:01 PM
Is anyone else having trouble playing with the newer versions of the emu? I'm using Dolphin 3.5.336 64bit and I keep crashing right after the inn part where you have to go to the middle of the town. These are my specs: gtx 560 ti, i7 2700k, win 7 64bit. I've tried using dx11/dx9 and opengl with various settings and they all seem to crash at this specific place.

Sure, here they are : http://i.imgur.com/1bpjKPc.jpg
However I'm 99% certain I've isolated the problem down to "Cache Display Lists" under the hacks tab. I've tried unchecking it (where previously with the crash I had it checked) in both 3.5.350 and the 3.5 stable build and they don't crash at that part anymore. I will keep playing the game and see how far I can get without it crashing again. |
