[Wii] Super Mario Galaxy 2
|
Hi again. A new issue has come: in Freeze Flake Galaxy, Sorbetti's Chilly Reception star, I take the rock power and once Mario starts to roll, he just disappears, there's some camera movement, but no Mario and no control! Mario goes entirely missing. Using IcemanSR's rev 230.
EDIT: also tried rev 6090, same issue (even with a strange blue screen) although bypassed in some way: as soon as arriving to the galaxy, do anything but taking the rock power and roll while you're still on the house door wooden floor where the power-up lies. Once done, the issue shouldn't happen again regardless of what you do. I tried to redo the bug in rev 6090 -didn't try in r230- by first talking to the rabbit, groundpounding the stumps and rolling while in the snow (exactly what I originally did), and sadly the bug returned. 08-14-2010, 06:09 AM
I forgot to report that issue, I encountered the same thing a while back. The only way around it is not to roll around on the first planet for too long as the rock.
OK, now in Rolling Masterpiece Galaxy. For whoever's sake, does someone has a good wiimote plugin config or method that works to pass this galaxy? It's just impossible!! Or do I really need to stick to the real Wiimote? On keyboard the button "shaking" in Wiimote seems to change direction if I'm running to the right (pitching left), but doesn't work if I'm going to the left! I cannot change direction! Is it possible to have good or acceptable control of these Wiimote functions with the keyboard?

That galaxy was difficult enough with the real Wiimote, I'd imaging it being much more difficult with a non-standard keyboard or gamepad. I would suggest to use an actual Wiimote, especially once you start collecting green stars.

Came to wonder... is the pointer independant of Wiimote's rotating functions in Dolphin? I mean, if the pointer works on its own regardless of what the Wiimote's "3D ubication" is. Because in real Wii, for example, if I pitch up the pointer also goes up, and so... Sorry of this sounds like a nonsense question, but it could be that pointer also affects rotation in some way...
Also, there are youtube videos of many people playing SMG2 on Dolphin, finishing it, so unless all of them are using real Wiimotes, it should be possible... 08-14-2010, 12:13 PM
Pointer is independent of roll/pitch. The Wiimote pointer is controlled by an IR sensor on the actual Wiimote and the infrared lights on the sensor bar. The roll, pitch, and tilt is controlled by accelerometers inside the Wiimote.
OK, Rolling Masterpiece Galaxy finally gotten its butt kicked with keyboard!! Don't know if it's really necessary to report it, but I do anyway, I need... I was about to install Wiimote for use on Dolphin many times, but for some reason I just couldn't leave things that way, especially when I started to see some progress.
I don't know yet if I will go after green stars, but Rolling Masterpiece Galaxy CAN be beaten with keyboard for those who attempt it. Of course, be warned: NOT EASY, even if you have a good button config, Mario cannot pitch to the right easily while on the sphere, unlike the left case. Just for not spending 1000 words, I'll say rely on spinning button for slight direction change (spinning button while on the sphere helps pitching left). In order to pitch right, you must have your right turning already started, otherwise will just go all way left. Also using savestates in this case is recommended. Hope this info is helpful. If not, at least I hope it's not considered spam... Thanks. 08-14-2010, 11:56 PM
Rolling Masterpiece Galaxy? The really difficult one is called Rolling Coaster Galaxy or something, isn't it?
