RupeeClock, can i ask what sort of speeds you're getting with that rig in r5875?

Previously, few pages before, there was a mentioned FIFO crash, and now I think it happened to me in rev 5870: "FIFO is overflown by GatherPipe". The way it happened was as this: first I was getting the usual fps in my case, then I got some slowdowns which I thought were due to overheating or random background processes, and then the crash. What does it means? I thought revs 5873 and 5875 had this issue and 5870 was more stable... Or is it just a random crash?
Settings: General tab: Enabled Dual Core, enabled Idle Skipping, Framelimit to Auto, HLE the IPL checked, JIT recompiler. DX11 plugin: enabled CPU EFB access; in Advanced tab: enabled EFB copy, EFB Scaled Copy and 16x anisotropy. DSP HLE plugin: all defaults. Edit: I think that crash was the one I got when I tried enabling "Lock threads to cores" and "DSPLLE on thread". Anyway, would these 2 ones help in some speedup? 07-15-2010, 07:03 AM
This Fifo GatherPipe issue seems to be a pain in the neck for some, I wonder why a few of us aren't experiencing this issue? Does the speed of the graphics hardware have anything to do with it as mentioned before, because I don't think my 9800 GT is considered all that fast now.

Hey, that could be it...maybe it's "Lock Threads to core" that causes the crashes...just tested only for a few minutes but normally in that time I would have already had the crash
It's a bit less speed, but if there's no more crashes I'd be happy already. Well, Iceman said something about having fixed that watermark FIFO crash stuff but strangely he doesn't seem to want to make it public O_o

I have lock threads to core enabled and don't have these crashes, so I don't think that is it. Do these crashes also happen when you uncheck "Use Panic Handlers"?

Haven't tried unchecking "Use Panic Handlers", but what difference could that make, other than not showing error messages and seeing Dolphin just crashing? And... I'm getting REALLY annoyed with those FIFO crashes. Don't let me save not even at the first save! Cannot get past the very first galaxy! Is there any solution?

I just got some crashes today, however I'm unsure if they are related to Fifo Gatherpipe as I wasn't really having any problems with crashes before. It seems that it's been twice now that Ayuanx has broke something and disappeared without fixing it.

@ Xtreme: Maybe "lock threads to core" combined with having a QuadCore...or do you also have one?
Yeah, the crashes also occur when panic handlers are disabled. Even when enabled, you cannot really read the error message because Dolphin crashes in a second. You can however, see in Dolphin's log file (Dolphin\User\Logs). @ ZLRK: Do you get the crashes also with "Lock threads to core" disabled?
