NSMB Wii is extremely slow with EFB to RAM (needed for the spinning coins, block shine effect and moving question marks).
Unfortunately, the 'EFB to RAM caching' option (which should greatly improve the EFB to RAM performance) has no effect on this game. Dolphin x64 r6706 01-04-2011, 01:01 AM
yeah, nothing to get around that right now. let's hope James' optimizations speedup NSMBWii nicely and maybe then it'll be playable with EFB to RAM...

Hello. I am totally new to all of this. I have NSMB running great on dolphin for the most part. Everything runs great for about 10 minutes or so. Usually once I get to the second level (I haven't figured out how to save yet) and then it freezes and does nothing and I have to totally ex out of it. Any suggestions? Thanks.

NSMB runs much better with EFB to Ram and the optimized builds, specifically the SSE4 optimized builds. EFB to Ram has always been slow on the unoptimized builds, but with an optimized build I usually get full speed with EFB to Ram. Other slowdowns in NSMB is due to dsp/video interrupts, if you use the LLE plugin you'll notice it's full speed on the world select map whereas with the HLE plugin it's about 20 FPS slower. 01-04-2011, 03:23 PM
Ok, I've followed some advice and made some changes from some settings I found on gbatemp. The problem is that it still freezes after about 5-10 minutes, but no when it freezes it says...
"Wiimote 1 has been disconnected by system due to idle timeout. Don't panic this is quit normal behavior for power saving. To re-connect, Click "menu - tools - connect wiimote." I did as it said and it did nothing. Just froze! ARrrgggg!!! 01-04-2011, 04:17 PM

You should read the first post how to patch the iso : Quote:As of the latest revisions, you don't need to patch your ISO anymore! I will give it a try. It's a bit complicated, but hopefully I can figure it out. The LLE plugin doesn't help a tiny bit. With LLE there's a small drop in performance and the sound is less accurate. Yes, LLE is less accurate (for now): - The Left and Right stereo channels are reversed (!) - Some sounds are missing - Slightly muffled audio and more noise than the HLE plugin Tested with mamario's x64 build (r6733). |
