It's neither censoring nor "hey we know but we won't tell you".
Stuff works and is available to everyone but connecting to WFC needs some specific files which need to be manually dumped (similar to game isos, NAND dumps, DSP, etc). The only problem is that we have no comfortable way of getting them, yet. 10-21-2012, 04:09 AM

Doing that on the Wii would be stupid, far easier to just download IOS from NUS on a PC.

What do you need to get the Wii-network branch working? What can it do right now?
Desktop:
OS: Windows 7 64 bit CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K @ 4.4 GHz GPU: EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Factory OC'ed) RAM: 16 GB @ 1600 MHz Dolphin Revision:3.0, 3.0-784, 3.5, latest 3.5 10-21-2012, 08:02 PM
DER encoded certificates found in IOS binaries. wifi-support builds can play online in most games we tested, but there are still issues with WC24 and account registration which makes it unreleasable at the moment even if we had a tool to extract certificates.
