Hi all,
I just recently downloaded dolphin, probably about a month ago, and in the last few weeks have run into a problem that appears to be getting steadily worse.
First off, specs of mine that are available in my System Information:
OS Name Microsoft Windows 10 Home
Version 10.0.10586 Build 10586
System Model XPS 13 9343
System Type x64-based PC
Processor Intel® Core i5-5200U CPU @ 2.20GHz, 2195 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 4 Logical Processor(s)
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 8.00 GB
In the beginning, I only downloaded dolphin to play ssbm. I had the settings optimized for melee but soon got curious and wanted to try other games. I had about 5 total gamecube games at once, all of which ran smoothly with minor adjustments in the settings (MarioKart, StarFox Adventures, Mario Party 7, Spyro Hero's Tail). Then I decided I really wanted to play Galaxy 1 and 2, as I had never beaten the games when I had a wii years ago. So I downloaded them, as PAL versions (despite the fact that I definitely pressed for the NTSC versions), and ran into a few problems that I quickly fixed by manipulating settings, including setting up an emulated wiimote with an old 360 controller of mine. The other biggest change was switching my graphics backend from OpenGL to Direct3D 11, which made the game run just fine.
After starting Galaxy 1, and having it run well for at least a few days without interruption, I got a random orange screen of death with the code: WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR. I searched for the error and found very little on the internet, especially in the context of dolphin. I have since encountered the same error a few times playing Galaxy 2, this time with the blue screen of death (but same error) and with seemingly increasing frequency. Recently I went back to playing melee and I am unable to complete even a single match without dolphin crashing and forcing a restart.
I spent HOURS today with GeekSquad and in online forums, and even ran a diagnostic/PC fix program called ReImage, but my problems have not been fixed. I am ENTIRELY lost and I have no idea what is wrong with either dolphin on my computer or my computer itself. Like I said, I couldn't find anyone online with this same problem running my specs, but if anyone has experience or knowledge in this area it would be more than appreciated.
Thank you!
Cheers,
Djtrig
