Sounds like you made some headway with the issue. As a best practice, always reset that AMD shader cache especially after a major Radeon update. For example, when they move from 23.8.x to 23.9.x. It's not a bad idea to reset that cache regardless. Clearing that shader cache will cause some stuttering with some games, but it smooths out after awhile. Reinstalling your drivers after running DDU may or may not fix the issue...if you're doing any overclocking you may want to back off on it for awhile or bump your voltage a little (if you OC) to improve stability.
FYI AMD Adrenalin 23.8.2 was released today Aug 31st. So far no notable issues with this more minor point release. From the release notes the update seems to focus on fixes for the RX 7900XTX GPU so those of us on 6000 series probably won't see much of an impact.
