Hi all,
I have an extensive library of NGC and Wii games, both PAL (EUR) and NTSC (US). I'm a Dutch guy who moved to South-Africa. I dumped all my games and NGC/Wii roms, from both my South-African (US) and Dutch (EUR) consoles.
Since I am an avid gamer I've been using Dolphin-Emu for a long long time (somewhere around version 3). Now I can finally put my benchmarking skills to the test for the new DX12 backend.
My library consists of 73 NGC/Wii games, below are the first 13 games benchmarked on my (gaming) laptop.
I benchmarked all 3 HARDWARE backends, started new game on every game, waited until framerate was stable(ish) at the point where you first have full control in the game and wrote down the avg. framerates.
My conclusion up to now is: Most games perform a bit to a lot better in DX12 BUT there are a lot of glitches (although this might be because of no framelimit) at a lot of games DX12 shakes uncontrollably, or duplicate screens while the game keeps rendering on top of the duplicate screens (this are usually the case in games that shake as well), also I see a lot of glitches in transitions between scenes mainly small horizontal lines but those are not game breaking.
I am done benchmarking for today but will continue to do so somewhere this weekend.
