Hey Neo! There's one of your changes that I realize now i really, REALLY hate! Please move the "General" tab to the end of row (rightmost side). I go in here frequently to change between real/emulated, adjust attachment, controller profile, etc. You've now added one more unneccesary step to all that. The options on the General tab will only be touched once, maybe twice - the user should not have to see them constantly. Poor experience. Please move that and we should be all good! I know you agree!!!

Sorry, I was referring to the Wiimote "general" tab and I believe my reasons are clear.

Will game-based profiles for the video backends' settings ever return?
EDIT by neobrain: Maybe, maybe not. Please stop the OT talk, though .. 06-05-2011, 11:03 PM

I usually like getting things set up before starting a game since there's less problems with that approach and no chance of overwriting inis, etc. Again, if you look at those options, there's is nothing that should ever be really changed after the initial peek, if ever. Keep in mind these options were buried before without issue and no matter what you have introduced another step for people to get to their controller setup. Plus sometimes I like to just open it and see if I'm set to emulated or real. Now I always have to get in there and navigate the UI to see my current settings. I get it's consistent with the rest of the UI but I hate when designers put "consistency" over "usability". Nothing against you, I'm in the industry and work with some stubborn artists. Plus, you could argue it's more consistant with how the GC controller config works.

I think the most troublesome part really is that all users now have to open wiimote settings and changes tabs to pair up the real wiimote for that session. This is something real wiimote users have to do on every launch. So why force them to endure a useless window that they never need to change just to sync up for their game. This is not like the other settings areas, this is one where users will go very frequently and should have the most streamlined path (path of least resistance).
So how about it? I think it'll look fine over there or just having it default to wiimote 1 tab upon open would work fine as well.
