Well soooooorry. It's hard to bother making a thread for a game that doesn't even work, even in the Triforce branch. The Triforce branch pretty much only works with one of the dozen or so Triforce games, and only after adding cheats.
(though crediar is currently working on the Triforce branch, hence why all this Triforce stuff is happening now) Intel Xeon w7-3465X OC | Asus Pro WS W790-E Sage SE | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 FE | 8x16GiB G-Skill Zeta R5 DDR5-6000 | Windows 11 23H2 | (details)

It should be mentioned in the first post that you can pretty much enjoy the full FZAX game by using some AR codes described here. There is no need to hold off for Triiforce support on this one.

And it's certainly not a replacement for proper Triforce emulation. That's just F-Zero GX using left over AX code that crashes all the time! I agree that it doesn't replace proper Triforce emulation by any means. However, if the casual reader only wants to play the game there is that option. Interestingly, this was only made possible last Fall even though the game was 10 years old! I did not find it too bugged. I did notice that booting into AX mode makes the game more sensitive to vsync crashes but other than that it played quite well and I was able to play all 8 laps in a race once I turned off vsync. Well, admittedly I timed out on the last lap because my FZGX skills are rusty. Truth be told, this game is more of a curiosity and the actual console version has much more to offer, in my opinion. By the way, nice "evolutionary" controller silhouettes in your signature.

It would be great to have the ability to combine AX with GX.
AX can be completely unlocked in GX (which is however damn hard). Nevertheless the feature to combine AX with GX was pretty nice. 05-06-2021, 08:35 AM
Hello there!
So, how much of that supposed left over code is in the GX disk? Does it actually carry the networking code? If so or not, Cediar is the person working on this? Do we actually have the network code for the ax machine? Finally, what is the AX machine doing with all of that RAM? F Zero is not returning any time soon. I think, if someone can actually see the possible network code in GX/AX and take the base from that, reconvert AX hardware scheme or pass it to GX and actually pull off an alpha of AX/GX 4 individual screen multiplayer with the complete graphics, AI racers and tracks, we might actually have F Zero AX/GX online multiplayer complete. A forefront for F Zero GX/AX 30 human players across the globe. Combined with emulation, we could finally get into patching the game up. Has anyone tried contacting people from AV directly asking for code? I mean, nintendo did it, I think AV said no. That was 20 years ago. Someone, somewhere, has that program code and it might not be Sega. |
