Hi all,

First post too. Love the emulator and it's daily support.

The problem.....eBay cheap Wiimote with motion plus and a nunchuk...£12 GBP.
No distinguishing branding, it just says 'Motion 2 in 1' on the front and is recognised as a '-TR model'.

The Wiimote works fine in Dolphin, but that damned nunchuk just wont. So i'm off to buy an official controller bundle tomorrow, stuff the expense.

Interestingly, the Wiimote worked via Bluetooth with all three sets of driver stacks....Toshiba, BlueSoleil and Microsoft <--- in that order.
Had the same result each time, "please plug in your nunchuk".

I also tried both my USB 2.0 and 3.0 ports, same thing.

Well, lesson learned. I have read that some people can get the cheaper hardware to work 100%. But i'd imagine it's pot luck.

Thanks,

R.

Do you have in your Dolphin set to have nunchuk extension? If you don't no nunchuk will work for you

linker, that only applies if you're using Emulated Wiimote or Hybrid Wiimote. If you're using Real Wiimote, there's nothing to configure, just connect n' go.

Yes, I tried just about everything I could in the emulator, but the damned nunchuk wouldn't work.

I'll see how things go with official equipment.

There is a trick that should work, select Hybrid Wiimote, blank all configs in the wiimote Window but change extension to nunchuck... I managed to make a 3rd party nunchuck work by doing this...
HP ENVY dv6-7300 Notebook PC                 ASRock Z97M OC Formula
CPU: Intel Core i7-3630QM @ 2.4 GHz          Intel Pentium G3258 @ 4.2 GHz (OC)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M @ 2 GB GDDR5     NVIDIA GeForce GT 440 @ 1 GB DDR3
RAM: 16 GB @ DDR3-1600 (2x8 GB)              16 GB @ DDR3-1600 (4x4 GB)
OS:  Windows 10 (Insider Preview)            Windows 10 (version 20H2)

Thanks for the info Jhon. I tried the trick last night, but no joy.

Today, I bought an official Motion Plus controller along with a nunchuk and they work perfectly. Cost was £54. I used a gift voucher from last Christmas, so it didn't cost me a penny.
Using Microsofts BT stack, the WiiMote wouldn't function properly, but using the Toshiba stack it did, first time.

From what i've discovered now, i'll need a sensor bar too, they are pretty cheap and I don't have two candles to test with.
I walked past the sensor bars in the shop today, didn't realise! They were about £10.

So, all good so far, thanks for the replies.

Okey cokey,

Got hold of a wireless sensor bar from Game.co.uk for £9.99. Charges through usb and makes everything hunkydory with Dolphin.

Just out of interest, the Wiimote and Nunchuk I bought were official Nintendo peripherals and had the 'Wii U' logos on the boxes.

Thanks,

R.
