When I was a child, I was terrified of the disc read/error messages. I'd rush to turn the system off if my games stalled for too long during loading.
Nowadays, I've been rather interested in these messages that you're normally never meant to see unless something goes wrong, and have always had a strange curiosity with them, which has led to me wanting to "collect" them, but, due to their nature, footage of these messages are scarce, usually only posted if someone's trying to desperately save their beloved game disc, or console.
Using my real console with my real games would produce inconsistent results, and, you know, ruin the integrity of an increasingly scarce disc market, so I figured I'd dump mine to files, and then try to mess them up via emulation. One video mentioned using the "Eject Disc" function to cause an in-game crash, but trying this on my version simply acts as if it were a real gamecube and gives the "please close your disc tray message". even loading a new disc image simply performs the "please insert the current disc" message identically to a real gamecube. Is this a newer version thing, and if so, is there any way to use Dolphin's tools to make it show these messages for archival purposes?
