Question
Whenever I run Dolphin in fullscreen, my FPS literally drops down to around 10 or so, rendering any game unplayable.  The audio also distorts and crackles horribly.  Running it windowed with a small-sized window gives me normal frame rates, but if the window is enlarged or I enable fullscreen mode, the lag sets in.  The most perplexing part is that I have been using Dolphin for months now and have almost always gotten a stable 60 FPS in fullscreen mode with most games, until one time today. Huh   Now the problem seems to be stuck with me.  In case anyone wonders, I do not recall changing any graphical settings at all between the last time it ran normally and when it began lagging.  If you want to know my system specs, look below this text body, or check my profile.

My Specs:

Quote:Operating System: Windows 8.1 x64
Processor/CPU: Intel Core i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40 GHz
Video Card/GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7500 Series
Memory/RAM: 12.0
Dolphin Revision Currently Using: 4.0-5110

What backend are you using?

Being an AMD GPU user you should try to use the D3D backend when you can.

Do you have vsync enabled?

Have you updated your GPU drivers recently?

What are your Internal Resolution settings? Fullscreen resolution settings?

none of those things would typically cause spontaneous FPS drops, especially with that hardware. you should try updating the emulator and resetting settings to default to solve any issues first. does this issue happen with more than one game?

Thumbs Up
Thank you for the suggestion, NKF98! I updated to a newer build of Dolphin and the issue appears to be gone now.
