[SOLVED] Dolphin recognize all controllers as one

Hi. I've used Dolphin with friends before, with up to four players (two xbox 360 and two PS4 dual shock controllers) with no problems what so ever.

So I recently wanted to make a perfect couch setup, so I bought a long HDMI cable, USB extender and octopus (with four ports).
The controllers I use to this setup are four xbox elite controllers, no problems with the setup and playing alone. But as soon as I play with two or more controllers connected to the USB octopus, it switches both controllers onto the same profile (although I gave them different profiles) so one controller literally controls everyone else in-game, or gets stuck.

I've tried a few things in the configuration, but I am out of ideas. Is there a feature that can lock each controller setting for good, so it won't change mid-play?

Any help is much appreciated, thank you in advance.

After plugging in the controllers into your usb hub, you need to configure the controllers again. When you use a different usb port, it's a new device for windows. And then you need to plug in the controllers into the same ports as before on every use.

If this does not fix your problem, you need to explain more detailed what goes wrong.

I found out what the weak link were.
The USB octopus is 2.0, and I tried it in both 2.0 and 3.0 ports, didn't work. It seems like the USB octopus is too weak or can't tell the difference between the signals.

As soon as I just used the regular ports on my PC it worked fine.
Do you think a USB 3.0 hub would work, as it is considerably stronger than a 2.0 octopus?

Depending on the length of the usb cable, you might need an active cable that draws some of the usb power to enhance the signal. And using an usb hub with power supply is a good idea. Usb 2 or 3 shouldn't matter.

I think you're right. Because I just tried the USB octopus WITHOUT the USB extender, and it worked just fine, with the USB octopus alone. So the problem is the extender (5 meters) not the octopus as I originally assumed.
Now I just don't know what is best for a couch setup. Should I get a 3.0 USB hub with power supply? Should I get a better USB extender - what to do?

For my 10m setup, i use an active usb cable and an usb hub with power supply. I think cable length is more resticted with usb 3, but i could be wrong. Also, usb 3 only makes sense, if both is usb 3.

I see. Thank you for the info, I will look for something similar to your setup.
Also, thank you for helping me out solving this issue. Much appreciated!
