I think its funny that they post the original screenshots in like the worst settings in dolphin and then post the re-done work with all the settings on max.

In the post you're referring to, the image with the 'worst settings' is a screenshot at Wii resolution and settings without Dolphin enhancements, I clearly state it in the post. It was to give people an idea of how Dolphin's technology, combined with new textures, and the SweetFX shader create a picture that is miles more adnvanced than what you may have played on the Wii. 02-25-2016, 01:45 AM
Hey, just wanted to say I am really enjoying all the work that has gone into this. We are playing through this game for the first time and the HD textures, the Gecko DOF, and SweetFX are all working great. Is there an update on the bump mapped textures? Does anyone know which dungeon has the pillar that's previewed on the tumblr page?

I'm still working on some issues with the bump maps and specular lighting, honestly this is my first time working with them so it's been a bit of learning curve, but its progressing quite well. Oh, I think the pillar you're talking about is inside the statue of the Goddess The same texture repeats throughout the game though, so it can be seen in quite a few locations I think 02-27-2016, 02:14 AM

Is your bump mapping at all related to the newer Ishiiruka tesselation feature? Here's a demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IOcWPX7WZ7A There's also some wild bump mapping/phong lighting going on in Twilight Princess you may be interested in: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAilSUD2gKM Another thing, does anyone know if the SweetFX requires a specific backend in Dolphin? Will it work only with OpenGL or also DirectX? 03-03-2016, 07:25 AM
Hello everybody =)
I downloaded the texture pack and I tried it, it is very beautiful ! I started 4/5 days ago to make custom textures.. more exactly to extends few textures or squarely to make a new textures.. I'm using Photoshop CS6 and Inskape (to make vectorial pictures (when it works ^^)). I increase the picture definition to 5x or 2x (it depend the texture) I worked on the first screen and the selection screen... The original title screen : http://www.sanimessiah.fr/projet/ss_sd.jpg And the new title screen : http://www.sanimessiah.fr/projet/ss_hd.jpg (exepts Wii buttons icons (like A and B) I created a custom skin for link (see attachement) But I've problem to change the color of Skyward Charge and Strike. Even if i change color of texture the blue is always here (probably written in code ?) There is a possibility to contribute to your project ? There are any conditions to join the project ? NB : I'm french, so my english vocabulary can be middling. ^^' Thanks ! 03-06-2016, 05:31 AM
Would it be possible to get a quick description of the difference between the "combined" "Farontea’s" and "Vanilla Revamped" texture packs that are available for download? Is combined just a combination of the latter two options? Also, I like Skyward Sword's Depth of Field and don't want to turn it off—does that mean that I should use Vanilla Revamped?

I don't really know the difference either, but if you don't want to turn off the native DoF effect, just don't use the Gekco code

Yeah, I know that, but on the website it specifically says not to use "Vanilla Revamped" alongside the DOF hack, so I'm wondering if there's something different.

Sorry guys, I haven't been very clear on this. "Vanilla Revamped" is probably not going to get any more updates but it was a quick thing I did to improve the looks of Skyloft and a few other bits while still keeping the original DoF painterly effect. (I was mainly to look pretty with the blur) Mainly the grass texture is made to look pretty when the DoF effect blurs it out, so with the DoF hack on or the Gecko code enabled it just looks like garbage. That's really the only difference. This pack also contains all the nice user interface stuff that is fixed in the Combined pack. The "Farontea" pack is an expansive texture pack purely made by Farontea where she's plowing through the textures in all corners of the game and making everything beautiful. This pack works fine with or without the DoF hack as it is done by an actual artist and not by some silly programmer. The "Combined" pack is basically the Farontea pack but with some textures from "Vanilla Revamped" where they haven't been textured yet mainly. It contains a hugely upgraded batch of user interface textures from the "Vanilla Revamped" pack which are quite important to keep your game looking pretty at all times. This looks great with or without the Dof Hack/Gecko Code. You should definitely get the "Combined" pack and the others are just for people who want to see everything he have to work with and would like to swap some textures in and out as they please. |
