Well, such is emulation life it seems. You trade one benefit for another regression
I did some reading on the shader issue, and I'll limit myself to less intense games then. I've waited so long with TP, I can wait some more.
Don't worry; we'll have a solution eventually. The hardest part was figuring out how to do it. Now it just has to be made

Once you compile each shader once, it should stay cached on disk, so the stuttering for that particular effect will go away.

I did notice that while tinkering with settings actually. However, since this is my first playthrough, every 'first' stutter will RUIN my precious immersion. 06-21-2016, 02:19 AM
@Renatar567: Seriously, just try out Ishiiruka, it costs you only a minute of your time. Get into the game once, get out, then play and have fun. I bet you won't even notice those tiny pop-ups after that.
I know the devs don't like it because it's not accurate behaviour of the console (and well, slight pop-ups, but they're not nearly as annyoing as stuttering; and I have yet to see any real graphical glitch after the second start of a game) and I'm looking forward to another solution in the future, but for just enjoying a game at this point there's nothing better than Async Shader Cache Generation (as in Ishiiruka).

We don't like crashing more than anything.
async shaders are a hack, Tino knows it, we know it, and we all know it's unstable. If they're really going for "immersion", that's hardly a better option. It also has this fun thing where in some cases, the effect will just break. Won't render at all. Even when compiled. 06-21-2016, 02:49 AM
I've played with Async Shader Cache Generation for as long as it's been out there and I'm getting neither glitches (like I said, after the second start of a game) nor crashes (maybe one or the other in many hours of playing, but those could have just as well have been something else; and even if not; they've been super-seldom for me).
I know it's a hack but as a user I'd rather have a satisfying gaming experience with a hack than having an annoying stutter fest with accuracy (well, it's not exactly accurate since the stuttering is not there on the console ;P ). I do appreciate your general thrive for accuracy. Without it, Dolphin wouldn't be as mature as it is today. And I really hope you'll find some good way to once and for all kill shader cache stuttering because it is the number one flaw of the user experience with Dolphin. Until then, though, when I actually want to play a game (not test or whatever), I'll risk that one crash in 50 hours of playing or so and enjoy a smooth game
