It's dead because I locked it so only the sub's moderators and Reddit staff could post there. That happened because:
Reddit will want a new moderator that they install to reopen the subreddit, and then it'll be full of posts again, and they'll need attention. Even if you're not proactive and just look at reports, I think there were a few a day (but I can't check that anymore).
- We initially participated in the protests about disabling third-party Reddit apps (as the official one was and still is absolutely dire).
- When that protest started to wind down because some moderators were weak-willed, we put out a user poll about whether to continue, and staying closed got a supermajority.
- The other moderator was fed up with the situation, so quit Reddit altogether, and I'd started using Lemmy instead, so it wasn't going to get enough moderator attention. That would be bad because:
- You can get totally banned from Reddit for leaving a sub unmoderated.
- It would be bad for Dolphin if the associated subreddit was unmoderated.
- You can get totally banned from Reddit for leaving a sub unmoderated.
