I am sorry for barging into this thread like that, but I, too, am thinking about getting one of those Threadripper PRO processors for my next PC. Even though my PC is only 7 years old (planned usage was 10 years), I am hitting limits when it comes to storage. I got two Micron 7400 Pro SSD's with PCIe adapters and all my slots on my motherboard are filled. It seems only Threadripper PRO processors offer enough PCIe lanes to satisfy my storage needs. Also, bifurcation would be very important so I can put like four U.2 SSD's into a single PCIe adapter.

What is your opinion on these motherboards? The GIGABYTE MC62-G40 looks pretty good to me, and I could get one for only €260 on ebay (refurbished, from a "GIGABYTE-certified" seller). Do you happen to know if bifurcation is a standard feature on those motherboards? What is the average boot time?
What do you think about the IPC performance of the AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5955WX? How does it compare to my Intel Core i7 6700k that is currently in my computer? Would it be a big upgrade?
Any help and info would be very much appreciated...

Sorry for any grammar mistakes. English is not my mother tongue.
