Technically it started a while ago, but it ended semi-recently, and the show honestly only got better as it went on; the first season was pretty great, but the second season and the stuff that came after it was absolutely fantastic. The Kizumonogatari movies were also excellent, and the final season was incredibly satisfying. Another one that comes to mind because it's currently airing is Steins;Gate. Another anime that was good in the first place but recently has had even more good stuff (Steins;Gate 0 is now airing and I would say at least lives up to the original). A lot of these also depend on what you consider "these days"; when did 9/10 anime stop appearing in your opinion? I'm going to continue this post naming only anime produced within this decade (so 2010 or later), but if you want even more recent stuff I could narrow it down a bit. Jinrui wa Suitai Shimashita (2012) is also an absolute gem. Hilarious and incredibly interesting, with memorable characters and an incredibly original setting. Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai (2011) is excellent as well, and it's probably one of the very few good things to come out of A-1, possibly the best. Lots of feels. I don't know if I'd call it 9/10, but the 2012 8-episode adaptation of Black Rock Shooter is somewhat of a hidden gem as well. The only real points against it are the fact that it's so short and the fact that it can be a bit too abstract at times, but it's fantastic besides that. Flip Flappers (2016) is a bit polarizing; some people really like it, others say it's incredibly overhyped, but I thought it was executed fantastically. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun (2014) is one of the most hilarious things you'll watch in your entire life. I could go on, but I think I've made my point. And those aren't even all of the anime out there, those are just the ones that I personally have both watched and enjoyed. Other people may have watched other things and think they could be the best anime of all time. I said if you hadn't seen any 9/10 anime recently then you weren't looking hard enough, but if you've watched all or almost all of these and didn't like any of them, then I guess I stand corrected, and you just don't like more modern anime for whatever reason. I'm not saying you're wrong for that, but if you haven't watched series like these, I'd recommend giving some of them a go before bemoaning all modern anime. 09-01-2018, 04:53 PM

The realta nua AKA the Vita version right?
Yeah no, it's a good thing. Nasu said in an interview once that he hates writing H scenes, he knows he's not good at it. But got pressured into it anyways because eroge sells better. And... jeez it shows. Like, it bounces between "so bad it's funny" to "alright please let me not read this anymore". Cut those out and you still get the solid story. |
