Maybe we could put a link next to the download links for stable versions explaining exactly what stable means and why it doesn't necessarily mean better. It would potentially put a big dent in the number of people who download old versions assuming it means 'less crashy'.

In an effort to fix a WxWidgets issue on Ubuntu 16.04 that only effected my computer, I managed to break Xorg. So I updated to the dev build of Ubuntu 18, and my problem is solved.
