Is that illegal to replicate the behaviour of a software?
I mean, emulators replicate the behaviour of a hardware so games can run on it. But the performance cost is huge. What about coding a program that tries to replicate the behaviour of a game code (for example, the .dol for a GC game) and load copyrighted resources it needs from the rom/iso the user provide?
I bet that's not legally possible but I ask anyway.
