Regarding whether a teleported person is still the original person: I guess it's just one of those subjects where there is no objective right or wrong. Kinda like the airplane treadmill problem, except without the physics to rescue us.
Also on the subjects of spirits/souls, I'm Christian and religious, but I find it silly to believe that a soul would be tied to your physical body (and hence it should be unaffected by teleportation/uploading of your mind into a supercomputer/anything else). Not trying to start a religious debate here, though.
Now, on another note, I'm pretty sure that this method of teleportation doesn't transfer matter at all; it may either only transfer the information, or at best would convert all the matter into energy and radiate/beam that to the destination. I don't really see how you could then reconstruct the teleported object without a receiving machine at the end point.
@Garteal: What ED2 said. Just block all level 0s and 1s with a private profile. Pretty much any real user would either have at least level 2, or a public profile (or both, in the vast majority of cases).
