And Germany wins! Loved the goal btw.

That's probably an exaggeration, but you get my point. I can take care of myself, and a house/dorm room, and I would not mind either of other people don't... As long as they are there to learn, and not have all-night parties and live the cliche "student life", i.e. drinking, going out with friends all the time, etc., I can deal with some non-academic incompetence. If I get taken to Cambridge, they have a collegiate system meaning that while I'll be attending lectures with the rest of the university's students, the majority of my free time and life will take place in a rather small college. Not really local though. The other unis I'll be applying to are rather big. The colleges at Cambridge are all within walking distance of one another, and you'll steal/buy a stolen bike within a few weeks. If you know people from your course in other colleges, it's no trouble to meet up with them, and it's not like you can't go into the dorms of other colleges (although you might need to be with someone who actually goes there otherwise they could have any old person show up and live in the corridors).

You are kidding me, regardless of the open nature of the project the work done seems more and more professional as time goes by. I still remember the svn days with the old site and the difference seems like night and day. 07-14-2014, 10:31 AM

You don't think they check the PSUs they receive for functionality? teh_speleegn_polease Wrote:so I'd expect the majority of students will be well-educated young gentlemen. You can't be serious. I went to a big state college in a rather wealthy area and there were a lot of entitled and incompetant rich kids. They were "well educated" in the sense that they got decent grades and that's about it. teh_speleegn_polease Wrote:I can take care of myself, and a house/dorm room, and I would not mind either of other people don't... Well you should mind. If that ever happens just do everything in your power to make their life a living hell until they either get off their lazy ass or leave. teh_speleegn_polease Wrote:As long as they are there to learn, and not have all-night parties and live the cliche "student life", i.e. drinking, going out with friends all the time, etc., I can deal with some non-academic incompetence. No, they definitely make sure they're going to get good units. But, Corsair's much more heavily-invested in things they actually manufacture, like their watercooling stuff (which I have lovingly dubbed "baby's first watercooler"), or their cases. Though, they obviously don't do anything that would mess up a good unit that was sent to them, since, you know, they case and package the finished unit themselves. Almost 100% sure they have quality control on the casing of the PSU.
EDIT: realized that I worded the bit about watercooling as if I were insulting corsair, but fear not. I was insulting people who buy prebuilt watercooling kits.
